Hi--I just wanted to make sure you saw this email I sent the other day. Tons of people in your area have signed, and it's not too late to add your name. ---------- Dear Tennessee MoveOn member, As we approach the general elections this November, Tennesseans are rising up in solidarity to protest the new Voter ID law. Thirty states, including Tennessee, will be affected by the current Voter ID law that will undermine upcoming elections, denying American citizens the freedom of a fair and just election process. These Voter ID laws are aimed at young voters, students, citizens with disabilities, military veterans, the elderly, communities of color, and they take us back towards the Jim Crow poll tax of the past. Please stand up with all Tennesseans, empowered, and urge our elected officials and local election commissions to reverse the Tennessee Voter ID law. Click here to add your name to this petition, and then pass it along to your friends. Voter ID laws breach upon our civil right to vote by creating poll taxes. Many people of color, with a disability, or in poverty have limited access to transportation and ID-issuing offices, as well as costs associated with getting the necessary documentation to obtain valid ID now required for voting. We petition that the 108th Tennessee General Assembly recognize the outcry of its constituency and reverse the new Tennessee Voter ID law. We ask that Speaker Harwell, as a woman, personally sponsor and foster the reversal of the law in respect of her heritage as a protected class and as the first female Speaker for the Tennessee House of Representatives. Click here to add your name to this petition, and then pass it along to your friends. Thanks! --Jennifer Wallis This petition was created on SignOn.org , the progressive, nonprofit petition site. A Retired Marine mentioned this in another Post, I think on a different Thread & maybe, a different Forum. But, he was talking about the Navy SEAL who actually took Bin Laden out, who is still Active-Duty. From the Articles that I have read in the last couple of days, all that SEAL said was that, Obama didn't take out Bin Laden, the SEALS did...which is techniquely correct, but doesn't give Obama credit for ordering that getting Bin Laden was a Main Priority & ordering the SEALS to raid his House & kill him when they found out his location...two things that Bush did not do! Here is the Story that the Teapublicans are pushing. ---------- "Ex-Officers Attack Obama Over Leaks On Bin Laden Raid." Click here: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/08/16/us/politics...
