No, it is 2 miles from my house and although it is quite dilapidated, it is still there.

Well, I have lived in the area all my life and have never heard of this before. Don't even remember seeing it on the news or in the paper, so I am doubting that this is true. If it is true, someone please post the story about this when it first happened. What was the peoples names? All this says is "Ike. What road is the house on? And what bridge are they talking about?

This place still exists to this day in 2009. But it happens to be collapsing on itself. The house is off Stricker RD or Brick Church RD. Depending on which direction you're coming from. I live in Sellersburg and have heard many stories, but none of which people say they've heard things in that house. I do not believe this house is haunted, but is still very creepy at night if you want a scare. I HIGHLY advise you not to go into this house. It is a 3 story house but the stairs are no longer there and its near impossible to go through the whole house due to rotting floors and ceilings. It is very unsafe and should be torn down due to dangerous fungi (asbestus) and unstable walls. Thank you for reading. That is all i know of this place.

What ever you want to know down to the smallest detail I can answer. I grew up on that rd through child hood and most of my adult life. Trust me, plenty of true things that many in surrounding towns are not aware of so they have made up their own stories passed down by their families including my own family connections that are what is now known as the old bridge haunting. The hauntings are true, but the stories are not.

well my friends and i were doin a lil paranormal hunting and we were sitting on the curved bridge on brick church road with the light out and vic. off, we turned the hummer back on and head light in time to see a white mist rise from one side of the bridge, it crossed in front of us and slowly whent over the other side, as we pulled away slightly perturbed by the experiance, my friend who was driving turned on the wiper fluid and when he did a black liquid appeared on the windshield, he tried to use the wipers to remove the substace. all that happened was it smeared and made it worse. as we started to pull away from the bridge goin towards the grave yard the mysterious substace cleared away like it was never there. This is a true first hand account of some of the strange things that go on down there at night. i cant say it was ghost for sure but i can say it was unexplainable to the least.
This incident happened in early June 2010, to this day all of us in the car that witnessed this continue to be baffled.

I would not recommend going. I was with some friends last night trying to find the place. We got to the meat factory and couldn't find it so we decided to leave. We noticed there was a big fire a little ways away and we heard people talking. As we started to drive away a car pulled up and stopped us. This guy got out and started threatening us, saying he would hurt us. He started asking us what we were doing and saying "this is just a meat factory." after we said that we were just looking for a place we had heard about. He sounded as if they were doing something they shouldn't have out there. This guy looked like he was going to kill us. He let us go but got back in his truck and started following us.

Well Kate,if you found the Memphis meat plant, then just look across the street! The old abandoned house sitting there is supposedly Old Man Ike's.

Old man ikes is a very creepy house but i would not advise going there or even strolling by reasons are me and my group of investigators didn't even make it across the street to observe from the fence and take pictures before we were being shot at by crazy neighbors across the street we decided not to get the police involved they are clearly fed up with people going there even to observe the house

I am a founding member of a small group named Spiritwatcher Para
normal. We have investigated this story and found that the events
did not happen at this location, but Weber road instead.Ike's last
name was Carlisle. We are still investigating this legend and will
post more about the story very soon.

Kate--I know what you mean. We went on a Sunday, pulled into the meat plant, and my son got out to take pics of the house. At that time, one of the neighbors started shooting their gun. I don't know if they were shooting at us, but we high-tailed it out of there.

This is the old Memphis Meat Packing Plant on Stricker Avenue. I am not sure why anyone around there would be shooting at people and something isn't quite making sense. I am open to anoynes explanation on that one LOL.? But Old Man Ikes house is in a state of near collapse and is too dangerous a place to be walking around.

This so called story has some truth to it but most of my info says other wise the story is somewhat true he didn't have a break in he lost his job and went on a killing spree and killed his own family not the family of a man the story of it being on sticker is bogus if it was where is the pics of the well and the story says there are multiple dwellings on the property strcke only has one house and he didn't hang himself he shot himself alsso the ppl who own the house have been the only owners so how can this story be. Me and my group have spent the past few years researching and finding out things weather the story of old man like is true or not we don't know but we have a location of a place that fits better then sticker......soon we we blow everyone's minds with what we have...
