Midnight Blue Air...

The garden is quiet
covered in frost
not one ounce of beauty
has been lost
The flowers glisten
in the bright moon light
How beautiful
the garden
is at night
Night birds sing
in the bower
a quiet song
that fits the hour
And upon the grass
a shimmering sheen
in which
ones foot prints
can be seen
And in the air
a mystical scent so rare
as flowers bloom
in midnight blue air
A peaceful feeling
some thing so right
The wonder of
the garden
revealed at night...

My eyes close and I see you clearly.
Distance is not measured.
You are here.
In my heart.
In my mind.
All of the tattered remnants.
Held together by regrets.
I long to forget.
To forget to remember.
To let go.
My eyes close and I see you clearly.

Spring Street Catbird...

My understanding of him is limited.
He is a loner.
He likes his privacy.
He tells others to stay away.

On a rainy day he sits there.
His body grey against a grey sky.
He lifts his head and shakes all over.
He looks toward the heavens,

And he tries to sing the rain away.
His body soaked,
He lifts his head.
And He sings!

My heart
is the sound
of thunder
beating out a call...
It portends
an empty future
the writings on the wall...
a note pinned
to a pillowcase
lipstick red goodbye
on a mirrored glass...
tears that fall
like raindrops
I knew
it wouldn't last...
Lightening flashes
a memory
and it's pain
that I recall...
Torn and tossed
confussed and lost
with no reason
left at all...
No one there
to catch me
no wings
to break my fall...

The Road to Peace...
As this night
comes and goes
I hope we will
remember those
who have also
come and gone
Brave men and women
who stood the fray
Held up the flag
and paved the way
for freedom...
Familes left behind
in tears
Sometimes a soldier
was gone
for years
as families waited
In the world
at home
Waiting just
to hear
the phone
A loved ones voice
across the miles
Calms many hearts
and lights up
many smiles
A Letter worn
through travels home
Held by a hand
chilled to the bone
For fear it is
Official
Soliders who
stand and give
so that others
cmight someday live
in freedom
as we do
Remember those
who stood the fray
Remember this Memorial Day...
and the dear price
of life
that many paid...
Give thanks to them
who paved the way
for freedom...

I will remember you
Will you remember me?
Don't let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories

I'm so tired but I can't sleep
Standin' on the edge of something much too deep
It's funny how we feel so much but we cannot say a word
Though we are screaming inside oh we can't be heard

I will remember you
Will you remember me?
Don't let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories

I'm so afraid to love you, but more afraid to loose
Clinging to a past that doesn't let me choose
But once there was a darkness, deep and endless night
You gave me everything you had, oh you gave me light

That I will remember you
Will you remember me?
Don't let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories

I will remember you
Will you remember me?
Don't let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories....

Life By Proxy...

She's a blue lady
Sitting in her chair
Waiting for the daylight
She doesn't really care

She's a blue lady
Who would love to learn to sing
Can't drive a clutch
Could do a lot of things

She's a blue lady
Watching sunlight rise
Knowing it's just another day
Asking the great They, Why

She's a blue lady
Doing what she does
Living life by proxy
Listening for love....

The walk...

This walk that I'm on,
Started with a few wobbly steps.
And it has been a long walk
full of happiness and regrets.
I never knew where my wandering feet
would lead me next.
I haven't always taken the road
that suited others best.
I have stumbled and I have fallen.
I've been tossed and I've been torn..
But the flowers always smell
so sweet..
I don't worry about the thorns...
My walk has led me to many friends,
To many places and things unknown.
I have no idea where it will end..
Or where I'll find my home...

The evening air is filled
with the sound
of hearts breaking..
A whispered wish in the wind...
A dream lost to the breeze...
A wisp of hope blown away...
A whirlwind of tangled lives..
The evening air
is filled with sound...

Weathering The Storm...

Rose had made breakfast and straightened up the house.. Tended to the live stock and got everything secured to handle the storm that was headed her way...
Living out here alone a woman has to learn how to take care of herself and Rose had a larder full of supplies... Sure she had neighbors but they were of no concern to her.. She could fend for herself and she hoped they could do the same... Thunder cracked and she turned to look at the sky....

The choice to move back to these mountains had been a difficult one for Rose.. It seemed to her that all her family had ever wanted was to get as far away from here as fast as they could... Nothing but fools in those hills her Grandma would say.... So her Mom and Dad were none to pleased when their daughter had announced her decision at Thanksgiving dinner.... Her mother simply said Rose are you sure??? as tears filled her eyes... Her father roared out his disapproval... ROSE!!! he said what are you thinking? There's nothing in those mountains for a woman alone but trouble... Rose smiled gently at her father knowing he only wanted to protect his girl and that his anger only came from the love he felt for her.... Dad she said I know what you are afraid of... Her father int erupted her brusquely!!! I'm not afraid of anything I'm afraid for you.... Rose's smile never faltered as she stood up and walked over to her fathers side... She stooped down and took his hand and looking into his eyes, so very much like her own, she said... Dad you taught me how to hunt, you taught me how to fish, you taught me how to camp and survive in bad weather.. If you think I'm not ready to try this then you say so and I'll put it off for a while... Her father looked into his daughters eyes... Eyes so very much like his own and he could only reply... you know I love you Rose... You be careful... Rose threw her arms around his neck and hugged him till he fussed at her and playfully pushed her away... She walked over to her Mother and she leaned down and touched the face... the one that she would have in another twenty years.. brushing away that one stubborn tear that had managed to escape.. Rose kissed her mothers cheek and then hugged her mothers head to her breast as if they had suddenly changed roles.. Now she was the mother comforting the frightened child...

A deep sigh escaped her lips and she shook off the chill that had brushed over her... Yep that storm is coming this way for sure... Rose tied up the corral gate and headed back up to the house.. Into the kitchen for that second cup of coffee.. the one that says good job Rose.. The chores are done for now... She walked out on to the side porch and sat facing the East hills... It was a wondrous thing to watch the sun come up over the mountains.... Cheyenne Brody, Roses trusted guardian lay at her feet.. His huge paws tapping as he chased the deer of his dreams.. The big silver Wolf Shepherd crossbreed although a full 2 years old, was still a baby according to Chico.. The little Chihuahua lay curled up in Roses lap enjoying the warmth in his old bones... He knew who was in charge around this place and it sure wasn't that big goober headed pup... Off in the distance a bolt of lightening ran across the clouds... Rose thought aloud, I sure hope that stuff stays up there ... Chico raised his head and looked at her with sleepy eyes as another cloud lit up a little further away...
That last flash of lightening had shown a long line of dark clouds and they were moving pretty fast in her direction... Rose sat Chico in the swing and stood up... Looking to the south and north waiting for another flash to show her how big the storm clouds were...The wind was starting to really pick up and the leaves were turning cart wheels down the hillside and then back up again... some in a group were simply chasing their stems round and round in the yard... Thunder cracked loudly and Cheyenne raised his head and looked at Rose as if to say is everything alright? She leaned down and gave him a little scratch between his ears.... Every things fine big boy she said... It's just a summer storm...

Rose walked into the house and rinsed her cup out and sat it to the side of the sink on her red gingham hand towel... She turned and looked at the kitchen itself... It was to modern to belong here in these hills.. the chrome was to shiny the tile to white... Before she had moved in Roses Dad had a guy come out and redo all the pluming and put in the new modern appliances... and while she loved the new bathroom with it's big garden tub and built in jacuzzi, the kitchen just seemed to her to be out of place... So she had brought in some touches to remind her of a simpler way of life... Her butter churn sitting in the corner.. was ready to be used anytime she was ready to make butter.. Bessie Bell gave plenty of milk and she always had fresh homemade butter and cheese in the shiny new refrigerator... She had bought an old Hoosier cabinet and repainted it and now it was filled with flour, rice, potatoes and onions... The onions and potatoes were from her garden out back... She kept it going year round, well except for when the snow had gotten so deep and the ground was to hard to dig... Her Mom was the one who had suggested it and she had helped put all the vegetables in that first year.... She smiled to herself thinking... If the storm gets bad, I'll be just fine up here even if I can't get down to the store for a while...

As if in contradiction the thunder cracked again and both dogs jumped up.. Rose called them into the house and they went into the bedroom and promptly hopped up on the big bed.. Chico using his tiny custom build stair case to get in and Cheyenne simply walking up on to it... They were uneasy and for them that was unusual... It was funny Rose thought as she looked at them they were so very different in shape and size and yet they were of the same even temper and unflinching loyalty... Good Dogs, she said as she walked over to the kitchen door... As Rose looked out the door towards the storm she thought about her first storm here in the mountains.. She had only been 5 years old but she remembered how everyone kept watching the sky, watching the lightening... Up here on the mountain a storm can change everything in one flash....

Twenty five years ago there had been a big storm come through the mountains.. the biggest to hear the old folks tell it...
It tore the side off of the hill where her Uncle Lesley lived. He was lucky to still have that life. His cabin was torn to shreds and what was left of the rest of his homestead would have made a good parking lot once you smoothed out the broken trees and all... Lesley loved the mountains but that storm had taken all that he loved... It convinced him that he needed to head down the hill instead of rebuilding his house... Rose guessed it was the best choice he could make considering everything he had lost to the storm... His job was in the city and he was still young... It seemed strange to Rose though that after Aunt Mary died in the storm, Lesley never seemed to care to find another woman to love... Rose thought it sad that he would spend his final days in a nursing home in a crowded city... It went against that mans nature just like it went against hers...
Lightening flashed and it was a lot closer now... Rose could see the thick wall of clouds that had been building clearly for the first time....

The sun had finally gained some sky and there was a dark green tinge to the clouds as they rolled across the mountain top.. This is going to be a big one thought Rose... I better get out and close up the barn and the hen house... Cheyenne and Chico stood up and jumped down from the bed.. at the sound of the door opening.. Rose smiled at them as they followed right behind her.. It was a pretty good walk down to the barn and Bessie Belle was the only occupant... well unless you counted field mice, a barn owl and the occasional corn snake... none of which bothered Bessie or Rose... The first drops of rain started to fall as Rose got to the barn... Nothing but a few drops but they were pretty good sized and cold.... Rose didn't like the way those clouds looked at all.. Bessie was glad to see Rose again so soon, she really wanted to be turned out to the pasture.. so Rose thinking she would be as safe there as anywhere, let her go on out... The barn was closed up and the Hen house was next... Rose walked to the side of the barn just in time to be all but pushed backwards when she turned the corner just as a gust of wind raked the side of the barn... Whoa now she said to no one but the dogs listened and they stopped walking... Rose smiled at them always listening always watching... She made her way over to the hen house and she closed the little door at the bottom of the big door and secured the latches on both... Rose jumped as a bolt of lightening lit up the clouds and she counted... 1 Mississippi.. 2 Mississippi... 3 Mississippi as she started walking back up to the house.... When she reached 17 Mississippi the thunder rolled down the valley....

As they reached the Kitchen door Rose told the dogs... Well no use worrying ourselves over it.. This isn't the first storm we've seen up here, We will be just fine.. Chico and Cheyenne tails wagging in unison agreed completely, looking at Rose as if to say... Why of course we will... They were fine, it was Rose who was concerned.. and telling them that it would all be OK was a way to tell herself the same thing,,,, They knew that.. still wagging their tails they followed Rose into the kitchen.. She picked up her coffee cup thinking, I deserve one more cup then I am going to have to get started working... Storm or no storm those stories don't write themselves... Being a writer was a good living when the words flowed and the stories told themselves, but lately Rose had really had to push the words and she feared that her publisher would somehow see the difficulty she was having come through in the words she wrote... Her decision to move back to the mountains had been hard for her in some ways but she knew if she was going to find peace in her life it would be here in these hills.... Looking at the storm clouds she smiled and thought... I think maybe Grandma was right... There's nothing but a fool up here on this hill... Rose fixed herself that third cup of coffee and walked out onto the sun porch and sat down in front of her computer... Looking at the blank screen wondering what stories were hiding in there today..

Rose had been working on a children's story for the last two months.. It was a cute little tail about miniature dinosaurs... Her character's were fun and they story itself was a very enjoyable one to write... Yet today the screen just sat there empty and the thunder rolled down the valley... No, No, No, this won't do thought Rose, How hard can it be to write a few short pages?.. A children's story is usually a fast and easy thing to write... Rose opened her notepad feature and began to read... The Pink Daisy Dinosaurs lived on a hill... If no one has found them , they live there still... Yes but is that all they do they just live there... Come on Rose think... tell the story... It's there.. in your mind right where you left it three weeks ago.... Yes it was there along with the reason she was having so much trouble writing... The storm was a distraction but that wasn't the real issue... no not at all.. It was the storm in Roses heart which had her at a loss for words....

::: sneaks into the Garden :::

I'm a lil confused, about everything that happened in the other Garden, but I suppose that is nothing new these days!

I blocked my profile, so the eville creatures can not trace where I post, to protect this Garden.

Do not suppose there are any chocolates hiding anyplace? So, the local social security office called me (I was dead to the world) and left a message saying that they needed my last *Pay stub* from state disability, showing I had exhausted my benefit. I called state, and over the phone answered their questions, for them to send me the last of my $. A whole 96.43, I'm rich... okay, not.

I am thinking, since I have to bring the fellow, at the local office, the final stub... that this means I actually am going to get SSI/Disability. Its 50 bucks more a month, than I was getting on state... and I know this, because the fellow told me, back in Feb when I went into apply for Fed (I knew it would take time) that my benefit amount was $950.00 a month. Not a lot, but damn sure better than NOTHING! And I think that means Medi-Cal, so my meds and doctor visits would be covered.

I hate being in the dark, blahhhhhhhhhh.

Okay, I am going to wander around Topix, and maybe kill Tim (my newest aged out of the system foster -22 years old, who makes 12 year olds look mature) So let me know where I can bury the body?

Love, Light, and a damn whole lot of laughter.

As Always,
Cherish Your Loved Ones.

Hi There good to see you here... Remember in the Jerk how he said his dad always wanted a bigger house, and he built a bigger house that was just like the old one... Well this is my bigger house.. There are only a very select few who know about it and I intend to keep it that way... Recks, Druid, you, Jag and Duh are the only ones I have told about it.. I have learned some very unsetteling things recently concerning all of the posting that has gone on in Offbeat... People keep appearing and disappearing and then reappering and they are all OZZIE.... He is either Sweetie Pie or she is his boy friend Bill or he is both of them either way that man has more faces than Eve ever thought of having... He is Karma, Zack, bright eyes, taco charlie, Whitedevil king of the trolls, and I can't even think straight enough to tell you the rest... I'm pretty sure he's Duke City Lady and Jeff is GMG Mike and the HH thats from russia and china...I hate to admit it but That is one thing that Beth got right.. He has a program that lets him change his ISP and he goes gray screen.. I know that he has at least 4 different email accounts that he uses.. So he can register as many as he wants...
OK so I am really glad to hear that your money stuff is coming round and yes if they are anything at all like Indiana when you get your SS you should get free medical as well...
((BIGHUGS))
I'm glad yoiu came to the new garden... It's just like the old one but with out all the fertilizer shpment... hahahaha
Oh boy... Seems we definitely stepped in something over there!

Now I am not sure if my computer is going to do what I told it to do... but if it works, my next post will say I am someplace other than uh, where ever it says I am, lol someplace (unless I screwed up, but I will post til I get it right, and then tell YOU how to do it too. Its been awhile since I used it.

Its how I watch BBC1, BBC2 and BBC3... sometimes SKY, but not really. I have not tried to watch anything for some time...

BBC America is Gordon Ramsey all damn day, for the last year.. and the shows they bring out as *New* were already a year or 2 old before airing here.

Ok here we go (I know this is going to fail, lol)

As Always
