Pillsbury/General Mills production hiring issues?

Being someone who has always managed to keep his head on straight, keep jobs and stay out of trouble. I tend to get a little discouraged with places like General Mills/Pillsbury hiring some of the folks that they do. I managed to squeeze in there a few years ago as a seasonal but was not fortunate enough to get a full time hire. I always apply each year though since it's a great job.
What isn't great is what some very honest people I know that work there think of some of the people they opt to hire instead, usually lazy, rule breakers or people who don't care, people just quit.
It's not a bad job so they must be lazy if they are not an exception.
I just wonder who evaluates and decides there? It's well known in some circles how inconsistent the hiring practices are.
Any opinions? Hope I didn't cry on you too much.

My advice to you would be to go to HR and ask them what you need to do to improve your chances of getting hired the next time. Maybe they can shed some light on why you have not been chosen.

My question is, what is scale pay there so I will know what to put on an application?
I know they are not hiring right now but I need to not base my expected pay too low nor too high and I have no idea what they have as a starting pay. Help!.

I worked there as a seasonal in 2012, and if I recall correctly, I started out at $19.25/hr. But within four months I was making over $20/hr. They also pay shift differentials for 2nd and 3rd shifts. Hope this helps!
