Art in Speed Park brings fine arts and crafts to Sellersburg, Ind.
Art in Speed Park, the little art show that could, keeps getting bigger - while still staying small enough to keep its friendly small town atmosphere.

Art in the Park is nice, but the prices are way too high. St James Art fair at least has assorted items with different prices so everyone can buy something.

I beg to differ. I bought several items at Art in Speed Park and spent between $100 - $150. My teenage daughters also purchased several items for birthday and Christmas presents.

Well, I guessed those booths, because everyone I seen had items priced very high. For instance, a simple rain gauge was $49. I saw pieces of jewelry that were $79 and up. Now I did see some Shaker made wooden spoons for $7.95, but that was about the cheapest thing I seen. Can I ask where those booths were that you purchased those items?
Not trying to be sarcastic, so please dont take it like that. I am really curious as to why I missed those booths. One thing I thought was nice, was Hubers having a booth and selling wine and cheese trays.

I'm the Director of Art in Speed Park.
I sincerely thank you for spending your day with us. We're happy that you enjoyed the show and the new additions, such as the Wine Garden. We were blessed with record crowds, and artists realizing their best sales of the year!
Please keep in mind that Art in Speed Park is a "Fine" art show. Participating artists must be accepted based on the high quality of their work. You will not find "crafty" items at the show - but you will find amazing, "Fine" Arts and Crafts. We have many of the same artists as St. James and other regional shows.
Artists are very sensitive to accommodating everyone's budget. In addition, they are able to sell more by having low price point items as well. These art pieces are found in most artist's booths. Only to name a few ... Jim McGie has gorgeous handcrafted wood rockers along with beautiful wooden spoons and other serving items for as low as $14.00. Ben Bridwell has breathtaking aluminum steel tables with fountains in the center but also has whimsical flowers to decorate your landscaping for only $25.00 Marianne Brown has her larger pieces of pottery but is always sure to have spoon rests and smaller bowls and cups for only $12.00. Katie Sasser was new to the show this year - I bought a pair of her bright and fun glass earrings for only $7.00. We are already planning the big 20th Anniversary of Art in Speed Park for August 28-29 2010. We hope that you join us then!

Thanks for the information. I have not missed one year of the celebration, and plan on going next year. You guys work hard to have something nice for the community. Keep up the good work. Everyone appreciates it and looks forward to it. I must have missed alot of the lower priced items.

Due to the event being in late august It can get really hot during this time of year. The park has A lot of very tall trees around the area that gives off a lot of shade. So don't skip it because you don't want to bake in the sun.
