To all of you that may go to Butner to buy your next vehicle PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE listen to me. Before you settle on ANY car on EITHER of their lots MAKE SURE you take it to YOUR OWN mechanic and have it looked at. Please I really hope to save at least one person the trouble my son has encountered. He bought a car from them less than 5 weeks later there are things going wrong with it left and right. It now sits at a Dealership (thankfully my husband works at in another state) we have had a certified master mechanic working on it and there is no doubt the majority of these problems were existent. I know auto stores use this practice thankfully the one my husband works at doesnt do this...(my husband works in the service dept. and would refuse to get an engine light off just to sell it) we were in seperate states or he would have bought his vehicle from OUR TRUSTWORTHY dealer. I just ask that anyone that THINKS of purchasing from them take it to a dealer they know and trust...DO NOT TAKE IT TO THE ONE THEY SUGGEST YOU TO TAKE IT TO IN NEW ALBANY...Like I said if I save one person from a nightmare like this than my job is done. For that matter ANY place you buy a used car TAKE IT TO SOMEONE YOU TRUST AND HAVE THEM LOOK AT IT BEFORE YOU SIGN.....My son has learned a very tough lesson but now he knows there are some very different types of people in this world and to always keep your eyes open ecspecially when you step foot on a car lot. Good luck to others and I hope your exp. is way better than his. God Bless

Do yourself a favor on your way driving over there to their car lot roll down your window take your cash out of your pocket and throw it out the window you will be much better off and it will actually save you money and trouble and that feeling your going to get from getting screwd afterwards.

I wish I would have read this a month ago my daughter bought a car there its the biggest piece of crap! My Neighbor after I told him who we bought it from he started laughing at me its like everyone in southern Indiana knows the joke and the punch line. I moved here from Ohio and I can tell you if we had a car lot selling junk like that to the public the state would shut them down! From what I been told Indiana does not care or they have someone covering for them!

A so called friend of mine referred me to butner, it was the worst mistake I ever made, id rather walk a 1000 miles daily than to buy another car from these people...yes its my fault I went there before investigating their true crookedness, but I advise everyone reading this, "Do not go there"!!!

WHEN you go to by a auto you should first check the BBB record & then get the car fax report & price of auto in writing & don't buy if owners manual or spare tire , jack , floor mats etc. are missing.

My Husband And I Purchased a truck from there January of last year.First thing we pointed out was the check 4x4 light was on,they told us they would fix it have it in writing and guess what?NOT FIXED.We bought additional coverage on the truck and nothing is actually covered.I am out the money for additional coverage and the fee to have it serviced. Two and thank God we made it home safely as soon as we pull in the drive the brake line snaps. They came and got it but we were without for almost a week. Then at tax time last year in the 3 week of February we put down a whole year payment, they called us the 2nd week in February telling us we are lat on our payments by a month and they were coming to get our vehicle if we did not catch it up.We did but still get calls saying we are behind.Another time they called and said we did not have insurance on the vehicle and we did they told us they called our insurance company and the company told them we didn't.Now I made a payment last week and they asked for the last 4 of my card and I asked why only the last 4 they said they had my card on file.Neither I nor my husband gave or have given them permission to keep our cards on file.So please people take warning.

Hoping this thread will still be somewhat active but here goes.

I'm looking for people who have had a car repossessed by Jim Butner/Clarksville Finance. I own a small business helping people with their credit. In the past month, I've run across 5 clients that have repossessions from Clarksville Finance on their credit reports. In all cases, Clarksville Finance took their cars back on flimsy excuses, then they've reported to the credit bureaus that the customer owes often MORE than what they originally paid for their car. In one case, Clarksville Finance (owned by the Butners), said they sold the $17,000 vehicle at their repo auction for $3,250. Guess who they sold it to? Jim Butner Auto Sales. I think there's something quite malevolent and illegal going on and I'm looking for more cases of this happening.

My intent is to find an attorney willing to take what could very well be a class action lawsuit on. As I said, I'm a small business here in Louisville. If I've run across 5 clients in a month with this issue, my bet is that there are thousands out there. Jim Butner/Clarksville Finance need to be stopped and I'm just enough of a bull dog to see if I can help make that happen.

I bought this Ford Tarus put down the deposit drove it home and didn't get it into the driveway over in Jeffersonville and the transmission goes out????????? I call the salesman back tell him what happened. While he was on the phone he was asking someone else in his office and I overheard it on the phone Its that the white one with the transmission going out on it? Salesman said well since you bought it AS IS your stuck with it. The Clark County Judges Fleece & Weber have had to known for years when you go back and hear cases after cases the same things going on they're own attorney knows what they are doing and they are representing them so just my opinion does that not make them a party to it too?
FBI needs to investigate all this WAY TO MUCH HOME COOKING GOING ON HERE! WHEN its obvious what is going on here and the case gets in front of the judges and they look the other way????
Striving to keep you driving thats a damn JOKE ! Everytime a Storm comes by I hope that God steers a Tornado over the top of the place takes them all for a ride about 10,000 feet straight up and drops them from the sky and they all splatter on the ground and asks, How did you like the ride?

I bought a POS from their establishment also I didn't make it home with my purchase either the gas petal stuck to the floor and the motor blew up. I didn't know I had a legal right to resend or CANCEL THE CONTRACT WITHIN 3 DAYS.

Yeah they are "Strivin to keep you driven" back and forth to court , problem is your going to have to take a taxi. Good question to ask the Clark County Judge, Have you bought a car from them? Would you? We all know the answer...

Update: I did take this issue to a large law firm in Louisville, but they declined to take it on since they weren't sure that it was a big enough case for them. They did, however, recommend that individuals that think they've been wronged by Jim Butner Auto/Clarksville Finance, seek out an attorney. Wish I had better news.

Call Karen at A+ Credit in Louisville. Google it - I left my phone number here a few weeks ago, but apparently it was deleted. I have a great local attorney looking for people who have inaccurate information being reported on their credit reports by Clarksville Finance.

Please, see my post below.
JBA has had an investigation opened on them with the ASDA (state agency that issues the lot license). Any fuel you can add to the fire would be greatly appreciated. ASDA contact info for the State Sr. Investigator is listed in post. As is the info for State Att. General, Greg Zoeller. JBA's long history of having a reputation of predatory practices needs to be stopped! Thank you.
