Nice of Jane Power to express her opinion that homeowners would not likely support the ambulance company. What I want to know is...what does she care, she isn't a home owner. And, why of all people did Newsday ask her opinion?

I would hope Jane Power isn't ever in need of an ambulance. Since there is not enough room to park all the ambulances and first responders inside the buildings, ambulances and first responders can not leave medications outside so they must be stored inside for security and weather issues. Therefore when a call comes over the ambulance people first have to bring out the drugs, stock the ambulance and then go on the call causing delays in responding. Not too bright Mrs. Power to make comments when you really have no knowlege about what you are talking about.

Newsday knows they would not get the truth from you Brady.
And what Powers said is that people would not be happy with the taxes going up 60 dollars.

Jane, I am not upset because Newsday didn't ask me. I just think the first journalistic question they should have asked was....do you own a house in the ambulance district. Because, if you don't, your opinion does not matter. I have been to 2 meetings where the ambulance company laid out their reasons for needing a newer and larger location. They have 4 ambulances and none of them can be housed indoors. Drugs that are required to be kept above 50 degrees must be either kept warm via space heaters using extension cords, or they must be loaded before the ambulance can be dispatched. The vehicles also suffer damage from being exposed to the elements (snow, frost, must be removed, etc).

At a cost of about $5 a month, you are getting top quaility advanced life support and none of us is getting any younger.$60 dollars more a year was way below the school tax increase of over $250 for my house. This is a bargain.

Plus, the beautification of Neighborhood Rd and the 24 hour operation will all be a plus.

I don't know why they can't house some of their ambulances indoors, that makes no sense.
I would like to point out that more importantly than keeping the drugs in a controlled enviornment is the safety issue of leaving drugs in vehicles that are left outside. Can you imagine how many times the idiots of the world would be attempting to break into them to steal the meds?

Tim said that there are two thousand rentals
in the Village.
You say that they have no say here or opinion
First of all I am not Jane, and second I can see why this village is going no place because of people like you Gail. Bob . Victor and the board say, people who rent in the village have no say or opinion.
I think not

You know what, I am sick of hearing there are 2,000 rentals in MBV. Why doesn't someone go in and FOIL the list to prove it?

And as to your comment about renters having no say here, I stand by my opinion that when it comes to a tax issue, only taxpayers should be able to vote. Just as an example, look at how the school budget gets passed every year. If only taxpayers voted, I think that would change things.

We did foil for it. When we foiled for Gary's permits to see if he got them when he illegally rebuilt his marina with village equipment. BOTH foils were ignored. Every month after being submitted, we asked about the foils. And they are still being ignored. Don't you get it yet? When the trustees don't want us to know what's going on, they just ignore it. Or the best line the village gives..... We'll look into that.(But they never do)

So Brady.... You're against letting renters vote, but yet you jump over Bruce when he says he wants landlords to have mold inspection so renters don't get sick. You really hate renters don't you? No wonder the village is so unorganized. They want to get rid of renters but love renters because rentals make more money for the village. Too bad renters were allowed to vote for the village election to incorporate or not. I didn't see you standing by your convictions then! Without those renters your village never would have passed. Which IS a tax issue.

Your village is messed up.

According to the Census Bureau, there are way less than you think.

HOUSING TENURE
Occupied housing units 4,231 100.0%
Owner-occupied housing units 3,208 75.8%
Population in owner-occupied housing units 9,455 ( X )
Average household size of owner-occupied units 2.95 ( X )
Renter-occupied housing units 1,023 24.2%
Population in renter-occupied housing units 3,447 ( X )
Average household size of renter-occupied units

Somebody is lying

you never read, do you? BRADY is the one who doesn't want renters voting in the VILLAGE. And no, if you belong to the PROPERTY owners, you need to be a PROPERTY owner to be a director or vote. It says it in the title. PROPERTY OWNER!! Get it yet?
Where you LIVE, whether you are a renter or owner, you should be allowed to vote for issues that affect you. But Brady wants to take that away from any renter out there even though they were a large group that helped vote in this farce of a village. Nice.
Can you imagine if NYC didn't allow renters to vote? 7 and a half million people out of 8 wouldn't be allowed to vote. But I know I'm just confusing you.

Why don't you morons keep on the subject of the topic, which is ambulance companies? There are plenty of other places to voice your opinions of the rentals, etc that you are talking about.

when was this done? 1982????
There are more than 4231 homes in MB. Tim B said that more than half the homes in MB were rentals.(We've posted his letter to the state of NY, so we know he wrote it)So if someone is lying, it would be Tim.

If Tim said almost half the houses in MBV are rentals, I think he made a mistake. Who you gonna believe US Census or Tim?

I can't believe anything that comes out of his mouth. But you have to wonder what his motives were when he wrote that letter to the NY state A.G. Asking for the right to enforce stricter laws and regulations. His words, not mine.
