He's doing fine, and he will become increasingly effective in his position as President. It certainly is a pleasure to have someone competent in the Oval Office, as opposed to a national embarrassment such as Bush.

While I do have to agree with the statement that Obama is more competent than Bush and not necessarily the national embarrassment as seen in the previous years, I still have concerns for steps being taken. The economy is by no means self supporting at this time. I agree that it needs a boost. But is $800 billions of federal money poored into all directions the best way to cope with it? Some say no and I have to agree. More bailout money to companies such as AIG for example. Come on my fellow americans, if they haven't pulled through with the billions already tossed their way are they really going to be able to make the right decisions with the new billions coming?? How about the smaller companies that are suffering? What about the mom and pop stores in the local neighborhoods that are suffering? Why can't they get bailout money? Is it really the entire nation's responsibility to ensure that those people that failed to make their monthly mortgage payments be able to remain in their homes? Yes, I understand that closing of companies and the downsizing of companies causes lay-offs which in turn leads to people not able to make mortgage payments but there are so many more that is just the simple problems of taking on a mortgage that they knew they couldn't handle in the beginning. And those companies knew before hand that it was very risky but proceeded to finance the homes to them. Now is it our place to give the finance companies more money to operate on when it was a poor judgement on several occasions that put them into their predicument? But it seems as tho Obama has the "light at the end of the tunnel" in his hands and he is trying to guide the american people his direction! I'm very concerned about these matters and hope and pray that we can overcome the burdens and barriers that lie ahead.

While I am far from being a “yes man” of all of Bush’s actions while serving in the office of President, I am neither silly nor blind so that I blame the misfortunes of the last few years on the back of one single man.{IMO) While President, Bush’s main priority was to keep our county safe from another terror attack. This was accomplished despite the montage from the left labeling him as incompetent and a failure. Obama has not inherited a bad economy, but is rather using our economic woes to impose more government control of our every day lives. Banks and other financial institutions, automobile companies, and numerous others are looking to Washington for all the answers. Rather than seek independence from stipulations from government entities, Washington’s bailouts are imposing the iron fist of more bureaucracy, more federal standards and creating a population which has no incentive other than looking to politicians for their next handout. Sure, if you seek more government involvement in your every day lives, then Obama is doing dandy. As for me, Washington is the last place I’d be looking for answers to fix anything in hometown America.

I think the Republican from South Carolina was probably right when he said You Lie. Obama spoke like a dictator and not someone who unifies people. He speaks like Senator Blanch Lincoln, out both sides of his mouth.

well what we need to be asking and researching is exactly what would have happened IF Obama has just sat back and let all these things totally fail! Ever stop and ask yourself what this country would be going thru right now. Personally I think we would be in a deep depression, and we should all try to read about the Great Depression this country went thru once before. Do we really want to take a chance of that happening again. I dont think so. But at times I honestly believe that Americans will NEVER learn until we do go thru a depression where everyone loses everything. For the first time in over 8 yrs, we now have a President that is looking at the American people and trying to help our country, instead of inventing wars with other countries and spending our monies overseas. Just think what all the BILLIONs we spend on these wars would have helped the American citizens over the yrs. One final note. Who has kept this country safe in the last 8 mos?? The excuse grows old about Bush keeping this country safe. We will be attacked again, when who knows, but trust me the terrorist are not in any hurry, they plan well as we all found out 9-11. So please quit saying Bush kept this country safe, not true.

Weren't many of those years also controlled by a Republican Congress? Hasn't the independence from stipulations from government entities been tried to great excess by those Republicans? Have "Trickle Down Economics" brought the stability that we were promised when Bush made the rich vastly richer? Using your own analogy then we should be living in a virtual Shangri-La here in Hometown America.

Canada and the other countries that did not have a stimulus fund have already started to recover faster then the United States. Obama is surrounding himself with czars that have far left wing views that go against the freedoms we enjoy right now. Why should the terrorist attack us, when the President and the Democrats are going to bankrupt the country. You can offer your freedoms up for the Democrats to rewrite, but I’m not going to. I believe Bush did protect this country by using the CIA. These are the people willing to risk their lives,(possibly facing being beheaded), to prevent a terrorist from getting a nuclear bomb into this country and the Democrats are using them for sacrificial lambs to push their political agenda. The Democrats have turned on their own American people for political purposes. In 2003, while the ranking Democrat on the Financial Services Committee, Representative Barney Frank opposed a Bush administration proposal for transferring oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac from Congress and the Department of Housing and Urban Development to a new agency that would be created within the Treasury Department. The proposal reflected the administration's belief that Congress "neither has the tools, nor the stature" for adequate oversight. Frank stated, "These two entities...are not facing any kind of financial crisis.... The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing. The two companies, which together own or back more than half the home mortgages in the US became "hobbled" by loan defaults. In 2009 Frank said that Fannie and Freddie were not in crisis at the time and many financial institutions, like Lehman Brothers, also fell into crisis from 2003 to 2008. Your still listening to Representative Barney Franks, but this time he is working on a larger portion of the countries GDP. He needs to be removed from the committee. It would be nice for everyone to have health care, but not if it costs different age groups to lose their lives and sacrifices American people for political gains.

It's time for change in the good ole USA. If you do'nt support it then you're against the good ole USA getting ahead in the world. So let's support are President. Replublican or Democratic. They have a hard job. If you think you could do better than by all means run for President in 2012.
