Aaron Terning was not welcomed into this community and because he was different than most people he was shunned. If people had of given him a chance and had gotten to know this man they would have found out that he was not the man they see now and the crime would most likely not taken place. He was always very polite very honest, very respectful to others, would have died for his friends if he needed to, he dated very few but was always respectful to those he did date. I truly believe that the man that was with him was the instigator and pushed him into it. Again had the community given Aaron friendship instead of turning away from him this would not have happened . That of course is not an excuse for what he did to this wonderful child but only a heads up on why it might have happened the way it did. He was influenced and maybe even prodded into it by this other person , trust me this is not the Aaron that we know who did this . Thank you !

What planet do you live on?? Terning is an animal. Even the Sheriff testified he was afraid of him. Other testimony included a neighbor whose dog Terning shot, killed, and hung up on the neighbors gate. He has been heard many time telling many different people he would like to "see someone die" up close. He is highly intelligent and can be both persuasive and aggressive towards others. Don't piss him off and turn your back!

Gee, I don't know which of you two I'd like to know. CSH appears that he's on Aaron's side but all but admits that Aaron committed the crime, although he feels it was the other person's fault. CTNO will probably be picked for the jury and already has Aaron sitting in the electric chair. Maybe he didn't commit the crime at all. Have either of you heard of innocent until proven guilty? If he had a license to manufacture guns, obviously the federal government checked him out. Maybe this neighbor's dog harrassed his livestock, wouldn't you protect your property?

Wow! What a small world. I am from NW Illinois and know of Aaron through his firearms business and 1/4 scale engines. That he would be involved in something like this is hard to believe. Like the previous poster, I would describe him as very quiet, polite, but yes......someone who kept to himself and may be viewed as "strange" to some.

I am curious why someone in Gridley Il would be posting to this story. I have family from Gridley and spent many a summer there growing up.

It would be nice if people would wait until the facts are revealed in a trial. The thing to remember is to use the facts to decide guilt and not dismiss them through emotional rationalization like the original O.J. case. Many people want to blame others in lieu of personal responsibility.

ARE YOU INSANE. TED BUNDY WAS CONSIDERED QUITE INTELLEGENT AND VERY CHARMING TOO. ARE YOU SAYING IF THE COMMUNITY WOULD HAVE TREATED HIM BETTER HE WOULDN'T HAVE KILLED ALL THOSE PEOPLE. THE COMMUNITY DIDN'T PUT A GUN TO HIS HEAD. HE CHOSE HIS OWN ACTIONS. DON'T BLAME THE COMMUNITY BLAME HIM. PEOPLE ARE INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY INCLUDING THE COMMUNITY. GIVE ME A BREAK!

I SUPPOSE THE GIRL DESERVED TO BE RAPED TOO. YOU ARE IGNORANT. WE SHOULD BE GLAD HE GOT CAUGHT FOR THIS. KILLING ANIMALS IS A SIGN THAT HE IS CAPABLE OF DOING ALOT MORE THAN JUST RAPE. WE SHOULD BE GLAD HE'S OFF THE STREETS.

The title of this is that the charges were amended. Kimberly King (the present Co. Atty) is totally incompetent. She was elected to serve 4 years. She is supposed to be in Sedan 3 days and is rarely there. She can't make a decision, and I don't know if they have even prosecuted anyone since she's been there. Of course if you're never in your office, it's hard to prosecute anyone. So, of course, she has to have the Atty General's office come in because she doesn't know how to prosecute!! She was elected 2-1/2 years ago and is now on her 2nd pregnancy and was "not able to work" for about 5-6 months of her 1st pregnancy!! Wouldn't we all like to have a job like that? The citizens of CQ Co need to wake up and get someone in the Co Atty's office that knows what they are doing.

It is the "quiet" and "respectful" ones who end up fooling us all. If Aaron did this, it will come out in court. CSH said that it sounded like he was talked into or pressured into this. What? If Aaron is half the man you claim to know, he has a brain. The ultimate decision to participate in this crime was on his shoulders alone.

Whoever decides to rape has to pay for it!!!, even if there is people that blame the society for their behaviors, which I think is WRONG, everybody is who is because they want. They didn't have a good example to follow at home??? there is many ways anyone can see what is good and what is bad... the tv, the newspapers, churches, just the people around you... these man have to pay for it, and if it were in my hands... I'll vote for CASTRATION or dead penalty, these perpetrators don't have the right to destroy their victims lives, their minds, their souls for the rest of their days... these depraved man always come back to the society with more hunger of sex for all the years they couldn't have it, and because of anger against the society for putting them on jail!.

grb ARE YOU INSANE.?

Answer to that, NO ! and I have known this man since he was very young and he helped everyone that needed it and loved his animals and his friends. He would not have killed that dog unless that dog was going to harm his animals on his property . He worked very hard at his jobs and was a perfectionist and cared about the people he worked for. He is not a Bundy and never would be. Could he change ? yes we all can change but the boy that I knew for over 10 years is not who everyone is claiming he is now. Its just very sad that this happened and family's will never be the same the girl or Aarons family. Should he pay for what he is charged with IF it is proven ? Yes

Heck no i'm not insane cause like you, i'm sorta "close" to man. His family is quiet, very intelligent and honered family I know. Yes this family has gone thru alot. I just don't beleive some ppl and how they can judge someone whom they do not know. Granted, yes, I haven't been around much in the case of Aaron. Aaron is a kind gentle soul. He's the way he is only due to be antagonized and ridiculed by ppl whom don't know him and only "hear what they wanna here". I'm not saying he didn't do what he is accused of. That, I wasn't there toi witness. But come on ppl! For real! I'm not asking for compassion or sympathy for Aaron. Just let him know that there are ppl out there willing to say "Hey, God is there to help you if you recognize your crimes." (And no i'm not a bible pusher. I'm like any "red-blooded_ person out there. My love goes this man in his minutes, hours and days of being locked up. Aaron: for what it's worth, My love goes to you and your family. I can't tell you everything will be fine, but hey "families" got your back!

Yes, I knew both of the men and the girl too. She didn't deserve what happened, please don't misunderstand what I am saying, but don't be fooled by her age of 14. She has "been around the block" a few times. Much more could come to light about her and some of her friends activities depending on what the judge allows to be known in the case of the Sedan police officer who is currently being held for having sex with underage girls. He may even have been the photographer for her webpage.
