What they should do, it would actually save money and lives in the long run is, offer them 6 months in jail or 30 days in rehab, immediately after they are arrested. Every pain clinic in the country should pay a 10 percent tax every year to fund treatment programs for addicts. They make money hand over fist and help fuel addiction. I would say that 50 percent of people who attend pain clinics do not have pain levels that justify opioid treatment.
