Stupid? Yeah, but only because PG&E's critics are constantly looking for an opportunity to demonize their "enemy," and news operations like the Mercury will usually carry their water.

Joining online email groups that don't require verification of identity seems a natural way to anonymously learn about contrary opinions first-hand. These groups have no reasonable expectation of privacy, nor any right to wail about being infiltrated when trolls predictably make an appearance.

Do you really think those that oppose smart meters are keeping their opinions to themselves?

Eric Brockovitch where are you?
These meters lie, cause radiation and are just another Big Brother plan to reduce the middle class to servitude, slavery and dependence on the "grid".

Just. Brilliant.

"People with electrosensitivity are always accused of being tin foil hat crazies,"

I think that says it all.

So PG&E is using the same tactics as leftwing activists have! I'm against smart meters myself but I find it amusing that a PG&E higher up would "sneak" onto an opposing website. OOOHHHH!!!

He could have easily joined with his real name and monitored postings. Or does this group reject PGE participation?

His real problem is he probably gets paid too much and doesnt understand technology. Thought he would be a secret agent mole and post things to make his job easier. Hence, he got caught.

Thankfully, one big Smartmeter issue I was concerned with is put to rest.

Apparently, Smartmeters will not alter your email address.

Hey Bigbub- You love to post criticisms of environmentalists. Usually you pick at inconsequential points to make your bigger point that you can litter all you want. Good for you. Now leave.

That's really disgusting. Another reason I hate p.g.&e. Besides, if the boss is doing this what a fine example he's setting for his little worker bees.

Since the Bay area (and also especially one of San Francisco's major newspapers) is the world's capital for not connecting the dots and also totally ignoring relevant information, most people are unaware that:

1. The commissions that are in charge of regulating PG & E have sometimes even been caught printing the transcripts of their official meetings before those official meetings even took place (in other words before the official meeting, they first had an illegal and secret meeting in which everything was choreographed, fixed, and arranged before the official meeting ever took place).

1A. At least most of those so called "regulatory" and so called "watchdog" commissions are actually nothing more than rubberstamps for PG & E.

2. The beyond outrageous and totally ridiculous rulings PG & E got out of San Francisco Superior Court in the Savage/PG & E case proves that PG & E basically owns SF city government and the SF court system.

2A. SFSC's rulings in the Savage/PG & E case might have indirectly led to the San Bruno gas pipeline explosion, and which also caused at least eight deaths, since those rulings, and which were against a whistleblower, proved to PG & E that it could do anything it wanted and that it and its lawyers did not have to follow any rules or laws or pay any attention whatsoever to the truth.

3. And speaking of PG & E's lawyers, the father of John Walker Lindh, in other words the guy who was generally referred to as "The Marin Taliban," was a PG & E lawyer.

(NOTE: I believe the father, in other words the guy who spent many years as a PG & E lawyer, is now on one of the commissions that pretends to regulate PG & E.)

In my immediately above post I neglected to mention that PG & E is headquartered in San Francisco and definitely has and reflects the "values" of SF and of SF lawyers.(PG & E is one of those corporations whose values, actions, and corporate policies are largely set and determined by its lawyers.)

In fact speaking of SF style "values" and "standards," a lot of people have forgotten that Jim Jones, and later of Jonestown infamy, for awhile was the toast of San Francisco and with SF's bigshots, and including some of its most prominent lawyers, giving him testimonial dinners and repeatedly "educating" the public to the "fact" Jim Jones was one of the finest and most wonderful people of all time.

Before doing it, he should have hired a team of crooked lawyers to go thru and engage in the necessary lies, garbage, nonsense, and doubletalk to "prove" that it was all "legal" and "proper."

For instance, that is what Charles Keating of Lincoln Savings and Loan did so as to give him some legal cover just in case some of the more interesting aspects of his financial activities eventually came to light.
