Alcohol is a valid comparison. Society accepts one but not the other, when it is totally illogical to do so. Alcohol underwent Prohibition and it was a miserable failure; marijuana is under Prohibition and it is a miserable failure.
Technically alcohol is not the same to compare if you look at it on a surface level. It is closer to smoking. Yes it is not as mind altering as weed or alcohol, but you will never get a contact buzz from some ones beer next to you at a concernt, nor have your closes stink like their smoke of any kind, or just stink in general. If legalized it should need to be segregated completely because of these reasons alone.

1990's 33 murders in Vallejo over Marijuana sales. 2007-2010 numerous medical marijuana dispensaries and grower suffered armed robberies and home invasions through out our region. The argument that marijuana doesn't effect crime is ridiculous. It is harmless until the kill one of you family members while robbing one of these facilities. Get rid of this crap from society.
The REASON it is now dangerous is BECAUSE it is illegal. Apparently common sense isn't so common in your family. Have a drink while you ponder that mental midget.

Considering California's regulations about smoking tobacco in public, I would fully expect marijuana to come under all the same rules. I know some folks think legalizing weed would mean they could smoke it anywhere, any time, but I doubt very much it will.

If it was legal to enjoy it in the privacy of a home, I think that would be fine, myself. At least then we wouldn't see people getting twenty years hard time for a victimless crime.

The cops are the real heartless ones of our society today. They're the worst of the thugs and gangs. We fund them and depend on them and they decide to terrorize and rob us for trusting them. We depend on them as our safety net, because we have nobody else to call if they are worthless, which they are. Instead they harass us, ticket us more and with higher rates during a recession, and when they attack us like the blood thirsty parasites they are, we don't have anybody else to call.

What the hell! This notice and all other reports I have seen on this supposed "raid" are nothing more than the regurgitation of a Sheriff's Press Release. Most of these raids are motivated by less than honorable motives, aren't you supposed to be reporters, have you ever thought of doing an actual investigation to determine the legitimacy of these claims? Solano County Sheriffs are notoriously crooked; they regularly bust and harass legal patients, patients without the money or power the fight for their rights. How about one of you so called reporters do your job and look into the rouge policing agency that controls the largest portion of Solano County’s yearly budget.

It ins't the users most people have issues with! It is the non tax paying growers of Northern Cali making bookoo bucks, having large gardens, armed, and people being killed over the growth, production and sales of the drug. See if you paid attention to the debate you would see that this isn't about medical MJ or it's effects on certain patients. I often wonder how you people survive daily being so ignorant and such...
If your dumbass knew of anything about the collectives, they do have excise tax license and do pay local taxes. The police raided a collective; this isnt about medical marajuana? You are the ignorant one. This subject was about a bust, a raid and people getting arrested for it. Was not about clandestine pot farms, people getting killed. Get your facts straight you idiot.

So, tell me again, why is it useful to put people in jail for using marijuana?
