All snakes like hot environments. I've hiked Tam all my life, and seen the occasional rattler on some of the lesser trod trails sunning themselves on warm days every year. Pacific rattlers are native to Marin, and quite beneficial for the ecosystem. Now if you want to talk about a snake problem, there are an estimated 30,000 non-native Burmese pythons causing havoc in the South Florida ecosystem (I'm sure someone will make a joke about illegal aliens in this context).

They don't have to send them up to Sonoma county, I'll take them for my backyard. I'd rather have rattlesnakes than gophers.

"cats kill out of instinct and make great rodent control."
cats DO NOT make a dent in our local rodent population and increase fleas, kill baby birds trying to fledge, so...their jump on us and come on in to infest indoor only cats...nice neighbors say hey dude...your problem!! mind you.. we have 5 outdoor cats in a 3 house area equals plenty of mice, rats, and fleas
not feeding birds/squirrels etc is good-rats come for the bird seed.

Michael Savage is psychotic and a self hating Jew. If he were proud of his Jewish heritage, then he would have retained his real name...."Weiner"..

I'm still trying to figure out the officials recommending over-the-ankle boots. Are there any other kind? Below-the-ankle boots? Regardless.... warm weather, short skirts, college girls, and boots.

I don't think that's true, but why would anyone eat raw rattlesnake meat (unless as a carpaccio)?

Rats also eat fruits and veggies in the garden. I can say that if you have a modest size yard and a cat, you won't have rats eating your veggies and fruits for long. That's a fact jack!

No.
But it's best to cut the head of a rattler as You can still get accidentally bit by it, sorta a natural reflex action.

I used to have tons of quail, and I mean tons of them, and of course squirrls, chipmunks, chickorees, and all My lil' forrest buddies.
When I moved for 3 years back to the bay area, a Woman and Her 3 cats moved in my place...She split, but abandoned her cats.
now We have over 2 dozen feral cats, and no quail, or smaller squirrels, chickorees, etc.
My neighbors are constantly losing new chicks (chickens) from the cats as well.
But every once in a while the coyotes come through and cull the the cats numbers.

Helps if you're a king snake. They feed on rattlers as part of their diet, and are immune to the venom. Wonder how they handle a seven foot diamondback.

A self-hating Jew that supports them all that time. Sticks up(rightfully) for Israel. And hasn't changed his tune about this, since his first day on the air. You made your point...doofus. Savage is a stage name, no more, no less. Get over it.
