Give Us Back Our Bullets

There are 27 comments on the Free Republic story from Sep 28, 2009, titled Give Us Back Our Bullets. In it, Free Republic reports that:

When the Supreme Court struck down Washington, D.C.'s city-wide gun ban as unconstitutional in the D.C. v. Heller decision of June 2008, it seemed axiomatic that similar gun bans around the country would crumble under the weight of unconstitutionality as well.

When you turn a right into a restricted privilege you get results like having to spend over $800.00 to obtain a permit for a handgun. New York has some of the most draconian gun laws going and they only serve to screw the law abiding. GUN LAWS ONLY EFFECT LAW ABIDING PEOPLE!!! What don't the law makers get about that?????

Politicians never change. It's the same tactic that was used to keep Blacks from voting back in the 20's, 30's, 40's and 50's. Make things so difficult and expensive that it isn't worth the effort to exercise the RIGHT. If you THINK about it, there is a lot of similarities in the tactics used to oppress Blacks and those being used today to oppress gun owners RIGHTS. Of course it is natural in as much as gun control's true roots are based on racial discrimination.

Law makers do get it. But gun control laws afford them the opportunity to suck $800 dollars out of you.

I just realized. I don't like blue shirts. I really don't care if other people like them, it doesn't effect me in any way, but since I don't like them I propose a $345 tax on all blue shirt sales. Its for the good of the people. For the children!

Wow... being a politician is easy! I can do this all day long!

Pretty much the way it works. It's easy to tax the hell out of that which is deemed unpopular.

I'm not sure if actual treason could be proven, but I certainly think that a case for dereliction of duty could be made. Remember all of these scumbags took an oath to "uphold the Constitution of the US." They don't get to pick and choose which ones they agree with!(Sorry that should read"they're not supposed to pick and choose!") When I read all of this stuff over and over again it reminds me of a line from the movie Extreme Prejudice when Rip Torn says to Nick Nolte "The only thing worse than a politician is a child molester!!"

And his mother took bullets "in trade". He is living proof that one of his mother's "bullet trading sessions" produced a retard.

Gun laws are about the only thing FL has gotten right. In Obama's state I think it's illegal to even say the word "gun", and they are capping each other all day long.

Here is my counter point, as per your tag line: The point of this thread is hand gun control. The incident to which you linked did not involve guns at all. The kid was beaten with a railroad tie and tehn someone jumped on his head. there's a video of the beating. This could have happned regardless of the gun control laws in Chicago

Please define treason and show how a bunch of black teenagers in a gang fight meets the definition. I will wait for your response.

Which ones are the treasonous psychopaths: the people doing the shooting or the politicians?
Please be specific in your response

"The two factions, one that lived near the Altgeld Gardens housing development and one in an area known as "The Ville," began fighting after a shooting earlier that day that police called gang-related."

Get that? AFTER A SHOOTING EARLIER THAT DAY.

My point, however, was that even in the absence of guns (at least in this case) when criminals want to kill they will use ANY WEAPON OF OPPORTUNITY AT THEIR DISPOSAL. This poor child lost his life not to an idiot with a gun, but with a piece of wood stripped from a railroad cross tie. Unfortunately, he is still just as dead and a promising life has been extinguished.
