I have been to beaches all over the world(south america, italy, france, californi a,florida to name a few, and i cannot remember any of them charging to get on.I grew up at the jersey shore and its always been pretty well known they dont like day trippers. this is probaly a way of keeping many away.doing some simple math if 2000 people a day show up at $6.00 a head..i guess it takes $12,000 a day to pay lifegaurds and clean-up crews.as for belmar it soon will be another spring lake with just overpriced homes and no entertainment and the mayors vision will be complete.

In Massachusetts, beach parking is always charged. Walk-in, bike-in, run-in access is not charged.
