There was a two vehicle accident on Race Street last night in front of Arbys involving a Dodge Ram and a Chevy Tahoe I believe. Does any one know who it was? Also, my prayers go out to the families and the gentleman who was with her.

Trina Haufmann's husband was the man driving the chevy tahoe that hit the dodge ram. He is in the hospital. The person driving the dodge ram was speeding excessively and that is what I was told today in class.
I do not know the female who died.

I have learned that her name is possibly Amanda Kingsbury from South Carolina. Doesn't Trina work at White County Medical Center?

Her name was Amanda. The family knows, and they're in shock. She was a sweet, beautiful girl, 21 years old. Whatever happened, it's terrible. There's no need to speculate publicly about what happened. Wait on the coroners report.

I lost my 18 year old best friend and cousin in a car accident, 3 years this coming January and my 14 year old cousin in July due to overdose after a surgery....these both were heart breaking times for all the family and friends! I do not know this girl but My heart, deepest sympothy, condolences, and prayers go out to the family and friends of this young girl! God bless and be with them in this tragic time! Also, public speculation does not help, it hurts, a family that is going through what this family is! Please try to refrain from doing so!

hello.. I am a friend of the Hoofmans. People have spread the story around wrong. He is the truth. I stayed with the children lastnight. Kevin was in the Taho and he was not drunk. The couple in the dodge were. Yes the girl pasted on and the boy was arrested. We have not heard anything further with the what is going to happen with the boy. Yes Kevin is in the hospital. No broken bones and no harmful injury. They are keeping him for observation. This is all as of noon today. Thanks and my prayers are with all the familys.

I used to think all ambulance chasers were lawyers. I was wrong, some of the them are drama queens and kings bringing attention to themselves for others misfortunes.

As I stood at the Arby's last night all I could think of was the family of the young girl. I lost me own brother at the age of 21 due to a car accident years ago. I still recall the cold and rainy night when were told the news, I remember the pain and the anquish. I came home and got down on my knees and prayed for the family of the girl who was lost. I certainly hope that during this time they are comforted in some way. I don't know the girl and I don't know the guy who was taken into custody but I saw anquish on his face as well. There are no excuses for driving drunk, if indeed that is what has happened here but the young man's life whether free or otherwise will never, ever be free again.

Does it really matter where she was a student? I think you are just fishing for info to stir up trouble. Regardless of where she went to school, it is a tragedy.

Just to clarify, Trina's last name is H-O-O-F-M-A-N, and yes, her husband Kevin was pulling out of Arby's at the time of the accident. I repeat, HE WAS STATIONARY. Apparently, tweedle-dum and tweedle-dumber were plastered and flying down race in their Dodge Ram when they crossed the boundary line and smashed into Kevin's Tahoe (thus the PERSON in the Tahoe, not persons, had NOT been drinking). The Ram flipped and the girl died. The guy was arrested, and Kevin was admitted to WCMC. He seemed to be fine, but was kept overnight, just to make sure. Quite honestly, I feel no sympathy for the drunk couple. Surely they knew that driving drunk only leads to bad things. I'm only glad that Kevin was not the one who ended up dead on the side of the highway. By the way, I am not drama queen, this is the actual story, and I am a close friend of the Hoofmans. I thank God that Kevin is alright.

Funny thing how people have a way of turning a question into something more. Not quite fishing to stir up trouble but rather looking for a possible way to reach out in a positive direction.

I find it ironic that in a city that cares so much about people, the only information that can be found about this horrible accident is on here. What's worse is the people who say "don't speculate" turn around and blame the other side. We honestly don't know what happened and may never know. Please think before you post crude stuff because death is never an easy subject. Please pray for all those involved in this devastating accident, regardless of the reason.

A loss of life and you have No sympathy. Had it been your friend or family that had been killed, would you be seeking sympathy? Are we to assume you have never done something that may harm yourself or others? Life is about choices, followed by consequences. How about you all leave the judging to GOD, and let the poor girl rest in peace. Still, my thoughts and prayers go out to all the families.
