I too have been there when people are asked to stand when church members have done something good for them. To me that makes my spirit uneasy. Honestly I'm not being judgmental, why is that necessary? That is no one's business. If God's Works are being done people will see and feel it without having to be told publicly. Our works will be rewarded in Heaven.

I too have gone to church there literally since day one when we met in a tool shed. I can honestly say that I can't recall pastor Keith or pastor Carl asking anyone to stand because of good deeds. He has asked groups of people involved in certain ministries to stand so others who want to get involved know them, or stand when God has done something in your life. It builds my faith to see what God has done and is doing. And as far as mentioning local business, it's not marketing, they are mentioned (in my opinion) because its encouraging to know what businesses are owned by fellow believers. And they don't pick out days when attendance is full compared to others. You apparently haven't been to The River in a while because both services are pretty much equally full. Just remember that churches are made up of people... None of which are perfect. We are a group if Christians who love God and Love people and believe every word in the Bible is true. You are saved only through Jesus Christ and if you want to know more come visit. Exit 48 heading toward Bald Knob, take a right, take your first right, follow the rd. services are at 9 and 11.

I will say this about The River. If you are seeking Jesus and you come to this church long enough, you will change. You will see things like you have never seen, you will love like you have never loved and you will have a true heart for others like you have never had. It is a place where you feel accepted, even with all of your flaws, and we give the glory to whom I belongs. Our Lord and Savior. Jesus

I go to The River. Let me say this... I tried several church's and always felt like an outsider. I started going to The River and I must admit that it was different than any church I ever attended. But I decided to go again and truly has been a wonderful experience. I never have felt like an outsider. The Sermons keep my interest, pastor Keith makes me feel like he has know me all my life. It's just so amazing!

That was years ago, but from what I've heard the RoLC has changed a lot since I last set foot in the church... I'm debating on going back, cuz they probably will react with the same way as they did with you... but at the same time, I know several of them have had a massive change if heart and believe differently now than they did back then...

I am not a religious person myself but my entire family is and i would say 70% of them attended river of life. It is a great church and the few times i have been i never that they were trying to judge me. Especially based on poor decisions I've made in past or were currently making at the time. Really good loving atmosphere

I have attended the River, and there are good people there, so they seem. Who are we to judge though? Some of my concerns are why do the pastors ask people to stand when they have done a good deed? Why do the pastors ask people to stand when people in the church have done good deeds for them ? A big one is why do the pastors make mention of certain businesses in the community in front of the church, especially on days when attendance is full.
I've attended this church since Pastor Kieth started it. Never once have I heard him ask the church family to stand for someone's good deed or even his own. People stand to show appreciation. And as for the "business" part, he feels it's necessary to let us know where the church's offering are going and being spent. Would you not like to know the same? Anyways, it's any awesome church! Wouldn't trade it for anything.

I started going this past September, after visiting several other churches, I couldn't be happier, I have never felt out of place, pastor Keith and Carl get it, they are amazing, I used to fall asleep in church, and get excited when church was over, I was doing the motions of going to church, but leaving not really knowing what was said. That doesn't happen at the river, no way can you fall asleep, when you leave your excited, feel good and can't wait till the next service. And The music rocks.
