Impact is actually not laying people off. Get your facts straight! They are HELPING us by sending crews to other yards within our company. We gripe when the business gets slow and the paycheck sucks, then they compromise and get hours for us until the area picks up and we gripe more. Some people are never satisfied! If you're so unhappy about your job, don't wait for a layoff and don't cry on topix...LEAVE, go somewhere that will make you happy!

On Halliburton I would have no idea. But Texas transco you would have to have a cdl. You can always go apply to be a roustabout. They come and go.

Ok fellers heres the skinny and listen close! All drilling activity in the Fayetteville shale is about to slow down drastically. Natural gas is down in the stock market and oil is up for the forseeable future which means alot of rigs are moving out to texas and other oil producing areas. Alot of companies including my own are preparing to downsize and this is going to be an Arkansas wid thing. Only really productive and experienced employees are going to be keeping there jobs until it turns around. This includes all companies in the area. Its a rough deal but it is going to happen probably by spring. To anyone thinking of naysaying what I have just told you, save your keystrokes I speak the truth I have been through the ups and downs all my life. This is happening best of luck to everyone, if you can transfer to another area do it if not than good luck!

Yes, if you go to frac you will have to have a cdl plus haz mat and tanker indorsements, they may send you to truck driving school as long as you sign a year contract to work with them, weatherford also does this as well.

I'm sure we can expect a shift to south Arkansas in the near future with exploratory wells coming in "100bbls" of oil a day. We can count on seeing the rigs shift, those with experience should have nothing to worry about,

I was told that over half of the rigs have already pulled out of this area. Is this not true?
