Don't know who the "they" are that won't allow it to be voted on, perhaps they are visible or invisible sky people. Circulate a petition, obtain enough signatures to get it on the ballot. I'll vote for it and hopefully it will pass. One thing's for sure, arguing about it here won't accomplish a damn thing.

The fact that the churches fight it everytime somebody tries to get it put on the ballot is disturbing. In a democracy if you have a disagreement you put it to a vote.

I disagree with your "fact", but we can put it to a vote if you like.

Well luckily for you, that won't happen in your lifetime. The drilling here has only begun.

Searcy will never go back wet, it is blessed town and has Harding University to watch over it.
First and foremost, Jesus Christ not only drank alcohol, but made it too. Second, as blessed as Searcy might be, it's got the same number alcoholics and druggies as any other little town. They just hide. Third, and finally Harding University is more like a dictatorship than anything else. If you're against Harding, then you're the devil (according to them) They're ways are absolute and perfect. Which is BS...Don't give up hope alcohol lovers. Things might change one day.

You misspelled "their". Did the dictators at Harding make you so stupid? Have a beer and chill.

F*** Harding! Serving alcohol in restaurants will up Searcy's revenue. We're losing a lot of money because of those self-righteous hypocrits. Alcohol isnt a problem, the problem is lack of self-control. People should have the right to make their own decisions. And them holding the licenses didnt stop people drinking anyway.

Harding doesn't hold any liquor license. You are spreading a lie.

making white county a wet county would not help against drunk driving or anything else. It would create more of a problem. there would be more drunks out during the day, since most dont do anything but drink. wreaks caused by drunk driving would actually go up, with alcohol more available people would drink more often, and get more comfortable driving while drinking since they wouldnt live as far. they would be more publicly intoxicated people and with that comes more fights and domestic incidents. ive seen the results of a wet county and lived in one. it doesnt help anything

Harding DOES hold the remaining liquor license for white county. Each county ( or city/town) in Arkansas is allotted so many license we have 5 being used right now & Harding bought the remaining to keep them from being used. Don't tell me I don't know what I'm talking about because I am employeed at Harding & know it for a fact!!!

I think it's funny how much people "think" they know about Harding. As a former grad I don't always agree with Harding, but do you really think Searcy would be anywhere without Harding? Many restaurants and businesses would go under without the support of this institution you hate so much. So bring in your liquor do what you want, but be thankful for the business Harding brings in to Searcy, it would be dead without it.
