Because the government wastes money on the poor, not the rich and corporations. Right, b_rad?

Sorry, I was under the impression you were intelligent enough to know what people mean when they say welfare. Now I understand you're just parroting Fox News without knowing what you're talking about. My apologies.

Sorry you're wrong. Welfare as it is defined is aid to the unemployed, those with illness or disability, the elderly, those with dependent children, etc. In other words, folks the government determines cannot provide for themselves and their families without assistance, a.k.a. poor. The money the government spends on "welfare" pales in comparison to the giveaways the government hands out to corporations and the super-wealthy.

Corporations and wealthy give back though! The "poor" don't! Corporations provide jobs and the wealthy pay taxes! The "poor" end up getting money they didn't even pay in in taxes! What an ignorant conclusion you've drawn! Try again!!

So, you're saying poor people should starve. They're only poor because they didn't work hard enough, right?

Secondly, corporations don't provide a single job they don't have to. The only thing that makes "job creators" create jobs is increased demand for their goods and services, i.e. a strong middle class with more money in their pockets.

Third, don't get me started on the wealthy paying taxes. What a joke. I paid 25% in taxes in 2011. Mitt Romney paid 14%.

I don't think she ever said poor people should starve, just more sht you dream up that people don't say. What she did was state a fact. And it's not the people that worked there entire lives and getting social security that's people have a problem with. It's the young bums that can work but would rather sit at home collect free funds that they don't pay taxes on and make kids they can't afford that's the problem. And I'm sure you know this, just refuse to admit it. Anyone with a half a brain knows this.

Bet his 14% was a hell of a lot more than your 25% though! I'm aware of how and why jobs are created don't need a lesson in that area from you! Point us the ones your advocating for do nothing but take at least corporations and wealthy give back! Won't respond to the starving poor comment cuz that's just fckn stupid!

Well, when you don't have money, you have three choices: Starve, beg or steal. Two of the three are frowned upon by society, and one is illegal.

I agree there is some fraud and waste, b_rad. What should we do about it? Cut off funding across the board and punish honest people? Or hire more fraud investigators?(By the way, the second option costs taxpayers more money than the government loses through fraud.)

Well if the people in welfare offices did a better job at confirming things than it wouldn't be so much of a problem. But far as the second part costing more, ummm well from one view maybe, but think about the bigger picture. It creates jobs, and the people it found that can actually work or lie about funds get cut off then they will have to work! So that's more jobs being filled and both will be paying taxes on what they make. Then with all the "baby daddy's" working they will have to pay child support which will reduce the amount of the governments part of just giving it away and that will save money also! And plus they would more than likely want to keep having kids if they actually had to pay for them. And theirs much more I could add! Like the expensive health care side of it! So see its a much bigger chain reaction than just adding the amount it would cost to hire the extra detectives. But people usually don't think about the entire picture.

Some fraud and waste? Lmao there's a lot!! I'd much rather spend money on stopping it them continuing to enable it! And the answer to ur first question is WORK!! That's what wrong with society people expect shit for free when they should be expecting a pay check on Friday cuz they worked all fckn week!

Ur part of the problem! So of course we can't expect u have sense enough to come up with a reasonable solution! And u bitch bout ur 25% taxes knowing ur ass got it all back plus an unearned income credit! Get off topix and contribute more or stfu and b happy being working poor!
