Where was I before I was born? Do people go somewhere after they die.? Being that those two fundamental questions are unanswerable is proof that our limited knowledge of life and death stops anyone from proving one way or another whether God exists or not.

And it proves that the existence of a god is irrelevant to our own existence. If there was some benevolent magic sky daddy watching over us, all concerned about whether or not we believed in it, then he, she, or it would certainly have a better way of convincing people of its existence than some old book written by ignorant savages using archaic languages, or dickhead evangelicals who think their emotional religious fantasies constitute proof.

Fact is, if bible-god really exists, he's one inept dumbass.

Come on now Don. Push aside the corrupt greed that churches have and look at the good will Christianity promotes. Treat others as you...you know.
To be so adamant and harsh about this subject will draw in the visitors that appose you and make your thread interesting ,but seriously, can you honestly say the teachings of the bible do not reflect what you would want in a society like ours? A society full of corruption and fear? Isn't the message worth spreading? Peace and love? I like peace and love. Why do you try to belittle people for believing in what you deny and cannot even prove your belief as factual. I do not believe there is a god. But I can appreciate the message behind the farse.

I can promote good will without a magic sky daddy that lurks just over my shoulder. That's called "integrity"; something people who believe they're being watched in case they screw up don't have.

Murdering "unruly" children...subjugating women...killing people who don't believe or behave the way you do...yes, I can honestly say the teachings of the bible don't reflect what I would want society to be like.

You can have peace and love without a Jew zombie attached to it.

Simple. This little phrase: "I hope you change your mind before it's too late." The insinuation that if I don't surrender my intellect and blindly subscribe to their particular brand of ancient desert superstition, something bad will happen to me after I die. It's insulting. And the notion that I should actually deserve eternal suffering for nothing more than a conviction of conscience at the hands of a maniacal cosmic wizard is the mental territory of madmen.

Like I said, you can have the message without the myth.

A negative statement can not be proven because somewhere there might be a fact that we are not aware of.
However, positive statements require proof, tangible proof...not just an emotional response.
So the onus is on the believer to prove their claim.
They can't.

We may not be able to prove "god" doesn't exist, but the likelyhood that there is an absolutely powerful, infinitely knowledgeable,
universe spanning entity that is deeply and personally concerned about my sex life is so small as to be virtually nonexistant.

After examining all the available evidence for and against an invisible superbeing who just wants to be worshipped, I have to conclude he's just not out there.

Well, I can't convince anyone to believe but I am a living testimony to say there is a God. Since being saved and praising Him...my life has turned completely around, for the good. I'm not a perfect Christian by any means in that I do still sin at times because it is human nature, but by praying and dedicating my life to worshipping God and Jesus, I can honestly say, life is good. I have seen too many miracles in my own life to not believe. And anyone who has questions I encourage u to
Ask a person of faith!:). I dont know everything because I am like a baby Christian lol. But I wouldn't have it any other way. And I pray that all those questioning God seek out the Answers to ur questions. And may God bless ya whether u believe or not.

The year 2012 AD.
Who was this person that impacted the worlds people in such a profound way, that the entire planets populace recognizes his death as the starting point for the beginning of time. But because I lack significant knowledge on this subject my opinion stays that for which it is, pure conjecture. Even with that being said, there can be little doubt that events of such history changing magnitude took place 2012 years ago that changed the world forever.

"The beginning of time?" No, not really.
"His death as the starting point?" No, not really.

This dating system was devised in 525, but was not widely used until after 800.
Before Dionysius Exiguus, a monk in Rome, started using the terms AD and BC, the Julian calendar years were identified by naming the consuls who held office that year. A pretty inaccurate system.
This little monk Dionysius (interesting that he is named for a pagan Greek god) "implied that Jesus' Incarnation occurred 525 years earlier, without stating the specific year during which his birth or conception occurred."
In other words, he took a shot in the dark.

However, "The Anglo-Saxon historian the Venerable Bede, who was familiar with the work of Dionysius Exiguus, used Anno Domini dating in his Ecclesiastical History of the English People, finished in 731, thus helping it gain popularity." Bede was the rock star of historians.

"Its endorsement by Emperor Charlemagne and his successors popularizing the usage of the epoch and spreading it throughout the Carolingian Empire ultimately lies at the core of the system's prevalence. According to the Catholic Encyclopedia, popes continued to date documents according to regnal years for some time, but usage of AD gradually became more common in Roman Catholic countries from the 11th to the 14th centuries. In 1422, Portugal became the last Western European country to switch to the system begun by Dionysius. Eastern Orthodox countries only began to adopt AD instead of the Byzantine calendar in 1700 when Russia did so, with others adopting it in the 19th and 20th centuries." (Wiki)

Confusionism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, Islam, and every other major religion *changed* the world.
The worship of gods/goddess in ancient Egypt changed that world.
There is no doubt that Christianity has changed the world.
That doesn't make it "miraculous," only comprehensible.
Every culture is shaped by religious, economic, and social factors.

Kelly, if you don't have knowledge on a subject, try Google.
There is a world of information at your fingertips.
Just make sure you take it all with the proverbial "grain of salt."
