Looks like this area will be busy for a few years. Wells on every section, cables strung everywhere. Roads destroyed by big rigs.

My family inherited mineral rights from our grandfather. We signed the lease with Chesapeake, and got the money for signing, but haven't heard a word since, nearly a year later. Does anyone know if they can at least update you on what is happening with your property?

Royalties will depend on how many wells per section,# of acres within a producing section. I can possibly furnish a buyer for rights or land with producing wells. Money up front is the best deal instead of declining royalties.

Send me a location of your land and I can tell you whether they are drilling in your section or nearby.

The better fuel now is Bio-Diesel. Not oil that is dug out of the grown. It grows naturally in farmer crops. Study up on it. See the National Geogaphic - October 2007 issue. Arkansas is even doing it now.

How do you find out if a well is going to be placed on your leased land? We have heard that we are going to get a well, but only my rumor. Thanks

Jennifer, if you have not yet leased your land in White Co., you should do some reading in the NARO
(Nat'l Assn of Royalty Owners) Forum. Archived posts are available free; a membership gives you access to latest posts plus the ability to ask the members for advice. They are exceedingly knowledgeable and helpful, and you can learn much about leasing to your best advantage. Hope this is not too late to help, and good luck.

We signed with Chesapeake over two years ago, and have heard nothing, as well. However, it isn't just a matter of sinking in the drill and pulling up the gas & selling it....a pipeline has to be built to transport the gas to terminals, then presume it is stored until sold. Apparently royalty owners are not paid until production is finally sold. In White Co's case, believe the main pipelines are in place in some areas (you can Google "Natural Gas Pipelines, White County" and see how near they are to your property. But the gas co. will still have to build the links from well location to the pipeline, which entails much more delay due to land negotiations, etc.
Please note my reply to Jennifer, above. Cheers.
