I know that living in the country has its ups and downs and shooting guns is part of everyones rights that live outside the city limits but when does it become an issue that the law will control? I live next to a neighbor that for the past 3 weeks starts shooting guns by at least 9AM everyday and continues on until well after dark, I had to call the law on them about a week ago for shooting muzzelloaders at 10:30PM. I don't mind someone shooting guns but it is like living next to a shooting range, I don't mean they shoot just every no and then all day but there is a gun going off every 30-45 seconds.

They are disturbing the peace. That is sufficient cause to get the SO involved.

you should be able to shoot your guns, but i do agree if you have neighbors that close, they should have some common decency to not shoot so late, but some are getting ready for deer season gotta put some food on the table.

we have enough laws already dont need any that try and let them control our guns, more and more, eventually they will try to take them away, then the only ones that will have guns will be criminals.

I am all for the right to own and bare arms but the gun owner should have the common sense not to shoot in close proximity of their neighbors. In the country some folks dogs and children play and someone could be killed or injured. Have the decency to target practice and site in your guns in an appropriate place and time.

There is no noise ordinance out in the county. However, your neighbor should use a little common sense. Bet if you had dogs that barked all night he'd be bitchin'!

Most of the time, and I use the word most lightly, country people can talk civil with their neighbors. If there is a problem with shooting guns and barking dogs. Maybe this is a time to calmly ask them to move to a different area of their property or to put their dog in a garage or shop at night. Try to solve your problem on your own before calling a sheriff. Doing that will only cause bad feelings between you and the person you have to live by for many years to come. And remember you can catch more flys with honey than you can vinegar. In other words, be nice.

I have no problem with someone shooting their guns but to shoot for over 12 hours a day all weekend long and every afternoon until after dark is a little excessive. But these people did move here from California so I suppose I shouldn't expect much from them.

Are you afraid to go talk nicely to them? I mean them being from Kaliforna and having them big guns an all.

Bill Haney has a private range on N. Main St. just outside the city. He's always shooting or blowing something up at his place. Pisses me off that he can do it so close to the city and nothing can be done about it. He sucks anyway.
