GUESS WHO THE SCHOOL GETS ITS MONEY FROM?(i smell fraud) also has anyone else notice that most jobs there seem to be only available to family members and freinds of certain employees.
i think its time to take a closer look into who is realy running the school and how its being run!
may be time for a complete turn over. top to bottom (dont forget the busbarn)
ps could someone plz turn off the fans at the greenhouse before they catch on fire.(what kind of weeds yall growing in there anyway?)

I agree. I have a 4 year degree and I have trying to get a job as an aide there. But I don't even get an interview, but then I hear they hired someone with no degree and someone they know and possibly speaks another language. The law says you must have at least 2 years of college to be an aide but of course these schools go around that. I am a parent of an elementary child and I look around and see that these "teachers and aides" don't care. But you know it's the same way everywhere else, like Denver City. At least in Seagraves I got an interview but in Denver City I didn't even get a chance. I even called to complain that I know I am qualified to do the job but they didn't care. Then I found out they hired a Hispanic. The school systems are corrupted.

If you thought there was fraud a few months ago....you havent heard the latest. Seagraves ISD has been spending a lot of money remodeling houses for the Superintendent. He had two houses tied up and wasnt paying a dime on either one of them. The school maintenance dept. had to put maintenance on the schools aside because they had to work on the Supts. house. Can anyone tell me how all this money that was spent on his housing benefits the children that attend our school? There are areas within the district that money could have been spent on (to benefit the students.) And what about the huge raise he just recieved with an extension on his contract? It's obvious that the district is not improving. Why are the Board Members, that are chosen by the community, approving these issues? Maybe things arent so great as they are told. As a member of the Seagraves Community, I would rather
see these people open their eyes than have to read or hear about another scandal involving Seagraves in the news.

I attend Seagraves high school. And i honestly belief our schools have not been better. If you think that our school is bad now WHERE YOU NOT IN SEAGRAVES BEFORE DR.SPILLER CAME??? He has made a great impact on Seagraves high school! And his new house has nothing to do with anybody maybe the school wanted to make sure he would be here in the future!

Yes, its obvious that you attend school in Seagraves because your spelling is bad. You belief? Its you believe. What impact has he made on the school?(Other than to spend all the money.) If you compare Seagraves ISD to other districts, it is at the bottom. Test scores are bad and if you speak to other students they will tell you that they are not improving. Remodeling two houses to try to keep the Superintendent is stupid! The district could have used the money for materials or other necessities to better educate students that attend school (like yourself.) If the plans are to keep the same Superintendent then it may be up to the State to change them. The best thing that could happen right now is for TEA to bring in professionals to manage this district and get it where it needs to be.

And where exactly do you think it needs to be?? If you are in fact a former student then you should know how messed up seagraves isd used to be! And our taks scores are getting better and better we got recognized last year! And TEA is checking on everything beacuse they're suprised we're improving that much! And if your problem with the school is seriously that bad then why don't you come up here and talk to the people in charge! Dr. Spiller has done great things to this school and if anything people like ypu should be looking at the good instead of the bad!

It wouldn't suprise me to know that you are probably one of the fat little cheerleaders that made the squad this year. That is why you are thinking your school is so great! That never would have happened anywhere else. So you are admitting that there is bad... I would like to look at the good but lately, there hasn't been anything good. The HS was recognized last year because there was a good principal that knew how to manage his building. You say I should go talk to the people in charge. Who? The person that demands to be called Dr. and will only answer to that. It is obvious that he cannot take criticism and chooses not to listen to anyone (that is why the district is in a mess.) Maybe you should ask the people from TEA, next time they visit, if they are making the trip because they are suprised the school is improving so much. I hope your bad grammar and bad spelling is because your upset and not because your being taught that way (which wouldn't be a surprise.)

This entire post shows your ignorance. SHS was a recognized campus last year. Scores are all improving. Teachers are working very hard with these kids. Dr. Spiller is doing a great job. Finances have NEVER been better - if you don't know what you are talking about then don't post things. It is people like you that try to keep the school down instead of raising them up. The staff and children of Seagraves ISD work hard everyday to improve. Please get the entire facts before you talk down about people in the future!!

As an employee of the district, I think maybe you need to get your facts straight. The facts are many employees were reimbursed for having insufficient funds due to payroll checks not clearing. SHS was recognized but our district consists of other campuses as well. Having used the economic status, of the students, as help on the accountability rating does not justify that the scores are improving. Yes, the STAFF and the STUDENTS of Seagraves ISD are working very hard everyday, however; the challenges we face have been brought on by management. Thank you for caring, but our administration should focus on "Children First."

The above comment about payroll checks not clearing is completely false. Seagraves ISD is in very good financial shape. Some employees were reimbursed for wire fees FROM the bank when a mistake was made on the posting date. The bank is who reimbursed the employees. It had NOTHING to do with checks not clearing. This thread is getting out of control.

Tax payer ... Does anyone know why the Schools Resource Officer is allowed to drive the schools suburban to and from Loop? Why does Seagraves have to furnish a vehicle and gas for an employee of the Seagraves School District to pick up his children from school in Loop? What happen to having "Pride" in our school? There are several employees that have their children enrolled in other school districts as well. Is Seagraves ISD not good enough for those students? Its those people, who are good enough to be employed by the district that are teaching our kids at our schools.

In regards to the SRO.

The Seagraves ISD SRO does live 9 miles away in Loop. He was hired because of his depth of law enforcement experience, educational background and his knowledge of the kids in our community due to his involvement over the years.
As his family lives in Loop, and his kids are in Loop schools, of course his children go to school in Loop...he WORKS for Seagraves ISD as of THIS school year...they've been in Loop all their life.

As for picking up his children from school in Loop...he is constantly working in Seagraves and is usually in town for hours after school time. However, you will see the suburban in Loop...at his house...where he PARKS it...and changes vehicles.

As a law enforcement officer working for Seagraves ISD (see above) he is on call 24/7 without overtime or comp pay...hence, the law enforcement equipped-suburban...which was a retrofitted OLD suburban the school owned...is provided for his use.

In regards to your assertion that "several employees that have their children enrolled in other school districts..." I hope you're just ill-informed and not flat out trying to mislead. There are some educators that LIVE in other school districts and drive into Seagraves to work. A FEW have children that go to school close to home...with many having their children go to school in Seagraves. With school housing being added, the number of educators that are living in the District with their children is increasing...the District, for the last few years, has been helping to INCREASE the number of FAMILIES moving into Seagraves with good quality, mid-range rent houses on which the educators all pay market value monthly rent.

Just so you'll know, I am a local taxpayer...property owner...and one who CHOSE to move to Seagraves at a time when many were BAILING OUT, all the while complaining about people letting down Seagraves. Seagraves ISD is coming out of a 15 year or so lull...and the present leadership and board are not only having to deal with the residue of past goofiness, but also dealing with every day, day-to-day issues inherent to a school system.

I have not lived in seagraves for very long, but i have two children in school at seagraves elementry and from the experiance we have had, the admin. and staff are excellent in my book, and for those of you who have a gripe about the Superintendent or anything else that goes on at the school go to the board meetings or just ask someone at the school admin. office, everything the school does with taxpayers money is public records, heck you can even found out a teachers qualification and their background, or school financial recors. Dont get me wrong i'm not trying to step on anybodys toes but i say if you have a problem with the way the school is ran than do somthing to change it. go to meetings get involved.
