Williams was FIRED from Kermit Police Department for having sex with a 14 year old girl. Now he's working in Brownfield as a police officer, please keep your eye on him!!

Does Brownfield police department know that he had sex with a 14 year old girl and was fired from Kermit police department? If so, how has this been kept quite? I guess I am a little confused.

Every Dog has his Day! Someone definately dropped the ball on this one. It usually starts at the top, the one who has the final say bout hiring and firing. The one at the top has allowd a man who by all accounts has NO business in law enforcment.
This man has been the deciding factor on alot of crimes including those of child molestation also. He was allowed pass judgment on people and send them to jail (where he belongs) and has testified time and time again against offenders. He is crooked and dirty from the word go. I'm offended that he is on adm. leave, rather than terminated immidiately for false informationon his application. Followed by charges put on him for the false information, and also revoke his aggreement from Kermit. That would be a good start in cleaning up our Police Dept. Everyone knows that the Chief will stand by his officers, but it'sgoing to eventualy cost him his job. That would be a rotten shame, since he has worked long and hard to get where he is....SMH

What ever happen to honor and integrity. There are brave men and weman who serve us everyday who DO have honor and integrity. Look around you will see Fire Fighters and Police officer doing the job that no one else would even think of doing. But then when one falls from grase its bad and it should be. Police officers and Fire Fighters should be held to a higher standard. Yes I know we are all human, but he (Darrel Williams) made that choice and took the oath. He took that oath to protect and serve (so help me GOD) and once that trust is broken it can never be restored.....Nor should it be.

What happens sometimes is an officer applicant will slip through the cracks. Appointments, promotions and terminations are often politically motivated. Also, if an officer is suspected of a crime, an agency will sometimes let the officer slip out the backdoor i.e. no criminal charges. The now ex-officer can later apply with another agency once the alleged incident at the former agency is forgotten.
