That's what I like to see! Anytime you enter someone else's property you should expect to get shot - it would greatly reduce the amount of thefts and murders that happen every year.

I would have liked the full story. Good for him for protecting the woman and child. The only way this would have been better is if the woman had shot him. That would have sweet justice.
Good for her for getting out of that cycle.

If this happened in MN the guy probably would've been charged and jailed for trying to protect the woman and child. But then again there is a reason why states like South Dakota have much lower crime rates than a MN: they aren't run as socialist camps.

Heres one reason:
"As of October 4 2007], the Castle Doctrine has become law in Florida, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, North and South Dakota, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona, Alaska, Idaho, Missouri and Maine.... By far, the popular concept in those states has been the “stand your ground” approach that permits a homeowner to fire upon invaders at first sight."
If you'll notice SD is in the list.
Now on to the land of the "euphorians":
"HOUSE KILLS EXPANDED DEADLY FORCE BILL GOP SPONSOR VOWS NEW PUSH TO EXTEND SELF-DEFENSE RIGHTS
Minnesota's version of the "Castle Doctrine" was shown the door Thursday. In the first legislative hearing for a bill broadening the circumstances in which people could shoot others in self-defense, a House committee defeated it on a 9-9 vote. But that doesn't mean the effort is done this session. Its chief sponsor, Rep. Tony Cornish, R-Good Thunder, said he will look for opportunities to attach it to other legislation."
Enough said?
