I agree with everything you say, plus it is industry that pays for 80% of our LPISD school taxes. If you want to live in a place where there is no industry, be prepared to have your property taxes increased by 80%.
!
You math is wrong. For 20% to become 100%, it has to increase by 400%.

Carry on.

no, i did not expect an answer. i asked the very basic information i could so that a tenth grade education might be able to answer and he couldn't even answer. why?
Maybe because he did not want to argue with an idiot that posts as 20 different people just to get a rise out of them? I think he is at least twice as smart as you.

I agree there is no real safe haven in La Porte from air pollution. But if you want to talk about air pollution sources, the Port of Houston is the main source of SO2 and PM2.5, the exhaust and soot from the large ships.
Each ship in the port emits more particulate matter than over 700,000 cars in the same period of time. The farther away from the Port, the better. Therefore,it is better to build the school as far away as possible from the port.
The real danger to kids is in their transportation. This is where the highest probability of injury exists. The longer the commute, the higher the probability. Transporting the Bayshore kids to say, Lomax, is a much worse option than building it on 146. How many trucks have overturned at Fairmont Parkway and 146? I'll tell you, in round numbers, it is a lot more than at Shoreacres Blvd.
The Bayshore Elementary kids have, by far, the best school in the district.
This is one of the best performing schools in the District, which is surprising considering the parents that live in that part of the District.
The Bayshore kids deserved the new school, but idiot activists who opposed its building evidently don't see it that way for their own selfish reasons.
By the way, the only way jerk Fed could have saved $25 million was to not build the new Bayshore Elementary School at all and not demolish old Bayshore Elementary. I believe the school cost $21.5 million and the demolition cost the rest.
Yes, an abandoned school, and busing kids to overcrowded schools all over town is in keeping with Fed's twisted and drug tainted way of thinking about quality of life in La Porte and disregard for kids.
If you want to increase the quality of life in La Porte and decrease air pollution, I suggest we bus Heavy Fed, and his friends of like mind to Mexico. That is where their ideal life style flourishes. Underground schools, give me a break!
WRONG! Bayshore was only rated acceptable according to LPISD's own website and news release.
Well then

LPISD is notorious in not keeping up it's website, but assuming that the website is correct, it proves the theory that the Bayshore kids reflect the Bayshore parents indifference, since they have the best school and arguably the best teachers.

absolutely not true. There is a new neighborhood being built now that is supposed to have a bridge to bayshore. Lakes at Fairmont greens. Beautiful neighborhood. Well built Horton homes. We have been toying with the idea of building there.

That was a two year old post.

I'm not saying that your writing is that of a two year old... I'm saying the post you are responding to is two years old.

I totally missed that! I didn't even pay attention to the dates since there was the incident at 225 and 146 this week.

Isn't there usually an incident at 225 and 146 every week?

Maybe but not ones that shut down the highway for a day or two! People are crazy if they don't realize that no matter where you are in La Porte there are certain units that would level a massive area. That is in addition to what comes through on rail cars and trucks.
