Dour Tower

We got duped into a giant monstrosity in the new water tower by the Aqua Company of England. It's likght blue like he sky, but could be enhanced with a large white-letter sign eading Sea Cliff across the metal. ThiS WAS proposed by a previous commener and I agree. Some surrounding residents should be consulted as to what would be best for them. They came to key meetings before construction but apparently their voices were unheard. Dlo they get a seclnd chance. Maybe.

I agree with the above assessment that the new water tower in Sea Cliff appears that it could take off into outer space. And it is much more enormous than any of us neighbors thought it would be. And we did not appreciate the size of the old water tower until now.

Here's a bulletin, a scoop if you will, that the Aqua Company of England, which handles Sea Cliff's water needs and constructed the new water tower, is now merging with American Water Company, making the conglomeration one of the largest water service companies in the country. Don't worry, the industrious and friendly head man of Sea Cliff's Aqua service, will remain in his position. The merger will be a boon for our village because the larger company will look after each of its affiliates more closely. An improvement for us.

Agreed, its an atrocity. The zoning board should be strung up from the top of that god-awful thing. What were they thinking having sex with that young girl in our FIRE HOUSE. They've caused lasting and significant damage to the character of the village and the property values of all who live in the area.
And then they have the nerve to go after Aratas for improving their store?
The whole lot of them should be forced to resign. Its a disgrace.

Well, Jemima, you seem to have expanded your horizon with three comments in a row. You wind up siding with the neighbors of the horrendous water tower. You allude to sex in the firehouse and the need for a house of ill repute in Sea Cliff. I sometimes have to agree with you on certain actions by the board of trustees (mayor naturally included) and zoning board. Your comment "Yeah, let's throw the bums out", however, is a bit stringent. Asking again, what is your connection with Sea Cliff? You seem so intent on having your opinions on record here.

Now you're talking, Jemima, with a sensible tone and an admirable goal. I, too, think that the town fathers (and mothers) of Sea Cliff get too filled with themselves to properly serve the other residents. Maybe a proverbial good kick in the pants would take the members of our 'quaint community' down a few pegs so that they treat everyone fairly and equitably. It's worth a try. The people here are reasonable enough to adjust any untoward attitudes or actions.

Thank you for your congratulations on my upcoming marriage.

But there is still a question that I have: What peaks your interest in Sea Cliff, relatives, a job, used to live here?

I think I said enough for now,but those men, sorry I mean boys who run the Fire House think there s==t does'nt stink the Fire House belongs to the people,Its not a club house for erresponsibile people. As far as my interest in Sea Cliff I just happen to read a few post and was shocked to see the way the 'committee'talked down and made fun of people Once again Joe enjoy your new life.

It's not altogether bad that the boys from the firehouse think of themselves as an elite organization, Jemima. That helps morale and the quality of service these volunteers give to our community. But you're right in the fact that they shouldn't act like 'elitists' as it applies to obeying the law and behaving within propriety bounds.
Thank you again, J, for your best wishes on my upcoming wedding. And I think it is neat that you should follow up after seeing a few interesting posts on the Sea Cliff Forum.

We had occasion to drive up 9th Avenue toward the new water tower, which is bigger than we viewed at different angles. It looms larger than life, like a spaceship about to launch into the stratosphere. There is no getting around it, both figuratively and literally. You have to go to 10th Avenue or 8th to circumvent it in your car and on foot. And there is no way to think of it as anything but humungus. It's more than we bargained for.

Aqua Water Company of England, the company that constructed Sea Cliff's new water tower and supplies us with water, has merged with an American water firm, making the conglomerate the largest in North America. That bodes well for our community because the larger your service company is, the more service you get. So far I don't think our water rates have gone up recently. If I am wrong, please correct me.

There is no more input on the water tower. So we ask neighbors of the giant facility, Will and Pat, to give us some of their thoughts on it. Should not we have a Sea Cliff in large letters on the tower, or would that be too obtrusive as if the tower were not?
