Two sides to a story wrote:
Let's be objective and look at both sides. Do you know what the system in place allows people, the majority of which are women, to do? They can collect child support, decide for whatever reason years later that they no longer want and close case, reopen case at later date and request support from time that they closed the case, and they are granted support for the entire time case is closed UNLESS the father is aware that he needs to go to court when case is closed so court can issue order that support stops. My brother paid support faithfully for 8 years, all of a sudden he starts getting checks from DCSE, went to DCSE to find out why, they advised him case closed and he no longer needed to pay. They never told him he should go to court. Three years later my niece's mother reopened case and demanded support for the three years case closed and was granted it. So now he pays monthly again with so much added per month to cover those three years but has a huge arrears because she was granted support for the period case closed.I went to court with him, I witnessed men having to show proof of their income but not the women. I heard women saying they had large child care expenses but when asked for proof said relatives taking care of child (children) so they had no proof and were not required to show proof. I am a woman, I believe that men AND women need to step up to the plate. The system in place is unjust and unfair to men! Politicians will not address as is not the pc thing to do.
I know when I went to get child support, my EX'es and my income were accounted for, and the spport was based on both to what I would receive. I did not claim child care because I had family to help, it is a shame when people lie to get ahead!

No, lady, you're on the child support gravy train, living tax-free, off the earnings of others. My ex-wife his my daughter from my for EIGHT YEARS in violation of our divorce decree...the courts did nothing about that....although they attempted to jail me for four months for having paid my support in advance.

And, lady, when my first child support order was crafted after I LOCATED my ex-wife and daughter living in Prince William County...the judge made inquiry only of my income, looked at the guidelines amount for one child, and entered that amount in an order against me that would cost me $41,998 to appeal....three years later after DCSE got tired me of calling them weekly, they moved to amend my support from $385 to $165 a month based on the calculations of my income and my ex-wife's...a $220/month decrease just from using her numbers in the calculation, as Virginia law REQUIRES.

You can report child support on taxes, but no one does. The ones you need to worry about is people who receive Welfare,I know of a person who works and makes $28,000 a year and has 3 children, has boyfried who works under the table, but she claims all of them on her taxes and gets food stamps, and gets around $9,000 in taxes. I don't make no were near that amount yearly, and do not get any welfare and it is just my daughter and I and I'm lucky if I get $800 -$1,000 back in taxes. I was told I would get more money in help if I had not pursued him for support. I do believe that the child support should be claimable for the non-constodial parent, but do not think child support should be reported for the custodial parent unless they don't have documentation of how it is spent.

And i work 2 jobs to make ends meet when their "father" doesn't pay child support. I now have 1 in college that I am helping....court didn't ORDER me to do that either.

Who in the h___ can support a child on $165.00 a month or take care of them for that, so you paid more in court cost or lawyer fees or who knows you might have received a free attorney at tax payers expense. I have to say it, but your a true low life when it comes to your child, wether your finished paying or not! A true disgrace to mankind! I bet taxpayers had to pay the rest for your child when your Ex received food stamps!

So the answer is that a court hasn't ordered you to pay ONE DIME For your child...but you made sure your children's father had a court order requiring him to, right?

I am closing in on 60, and I have been paying child support for more than half of my life (consecutive wives), so I consider myself an expert. My kids are doing great. I have spent only a few hundred bucks on lawyers because I have maintained a working relationship with my ex-wives.

I hear people whining all the time about what's coming out of their pockets, and I have no sympathy. Sending a check is the easiest thing you can do. Being a parent is maybe the toughest.

Everyone is focused on what they think someone else is doing to them. It's not working because of what the other person is doing. It always takes two to mess up a marriage - nobody is innocent.

Take your ex to lunch. Talk about raising your kids. Be friends. You'll save money in the long run, and you'll be less bitter. Your kids need for both parents to be happy and healthy. Kids remember whether their parents were happy or miserable more than they remember what they did or didn't have.

Forget the money. Make sure that your kids have what they need.

Of course, he wouldn't otherwise, and told me so. Told me he didn't feel like he "neeeded" to pay to help support his children. who do you think pays for the roof, the food, the clothes,....me! The money I ocassionally receive from their father helps, but it sure doesn't do it all. They are his children too, he should help support them.

Mr Briggman... you are quite the *butt*(to keep this as civil as possible). So your situation may suck... get some tissues and grow a set... sounds like you've been one DEAD BEAT dad... writting a check... sounds TOUGH man. How about raising that child of yours? How about the money that your ex spends monthly/annually toward the cost of raising that child. I can TOTALLY understand why she evaded you for so many years... who in their RIGHT mind would want to deal with an egotistical arrogant SOB as yourself?
Listen pal, I'm working to make my money the HONEST way... I don't get government help and I don't ask for it. The government didn't lay down and make this child... The father and I did... it is our duty, our RESPONSIBILITY to support the child. If he had any damn sense, he could have more custody and visitation... but he is a DRUG ADDICTED dead beat of a father... much like yourself.

This entire statement refers to mothers....some of the problem, the mothers shouldn't have the kids in the first place. Virginia is a mother state, for some reason they believe children are better off with the mother than the father, I know for a fact that my husband's children would be far better off with him than their mother. They have been in 4 different school districts and 5 different schools and they are only in 5th and 6th grades. Not all fathers are unsuitable....and my husband pays every month like clock work!!
You don't judge all women for the dummy you know who had children with that lady. I have one child and my child has live in the same place for 15 yrs out of the 17, so don't judge all by his situation. I know a lot of fathers who have been awarded custody of their children because mother proven unfit!

Every Man or Woman should support their children . PERIOD.

Stop having kids when they are too stupid to take care of them .

But every Woman who drives her Boyfriends Vette to the bank as she deposits her ex's whole paycheck .

You aint nothing but a usless honery *****

__________

Every Man who jumps around works for cash and plays the game to keep from suporting his kids because he is mad at their Moma .

You should be casterated with a pair of toe-nail clippers.

In the end ... Yea ladies ... You always get the better end of the deal in-courts and you know it .

From the top down , bottom up the child support system is a WRECK .

SHUT THE WHOLE THING DOWN ... Moma and Daddy figured out how to make those babies ... The TAXPAYER shouldn't have to keep ON AND ON AND ON taking care of these losers.
