Still trying to be me. Are you that insecure and weak that you cannot think for yourself but have to follow what MSNBC and the left wing nut job extremists tell you to think? I'm still available if you need that lesson on how to think independently for yourself. The only class Perriello has is the one that he will need for finding a new job in November!!!
Congratulations on registering your screen name! It will be much easier now knowing when the REAL Dark Side posts. Why do you think the liberals are so afraid of registering?

May I direct you to key paragraphs in the AP story:
"The legislation provides $10 billion to school districts to rehire laid-off teachers or to ensure that more teachers won't be let go before the new school year begins. The Education Department estimates that could save 160,000 jobs."
"The means of paying for the bill, a result of difficult negotiations in the Senate, were contentious.
Republicans objected to raising some $10 billion by raising taxes on some U.S.-based multinational companies."
Instead of your bombastic assertion about "putting yet another $26 BILLION on the Chinese credit card," please be aware that the bill is paid for with spending cuts that Republicans opposed.
I have no objection to anyone's disagreement with Perriello's policies, priorities, or votes. I don't even object to name-calling like "One-Term Tommie" or "Little Tommie Pee-Pee", since I think that sort of behavior immediately informs readers your comments will be childish and ill-informed.
I do have a serious problem with inflammatory comments that are based on either a complete lack of knowledge about the legislation you object to, or worse, comments that deliberately misinforming readers. Even Palin's ill-informed "death panel" comment twisted and exaggerated an actual clause in the legislation. Your comments about this legislation have absolutely no basis in fact.
I would challenge Democrats and Republicans, Liberals and Conservatives, to begin to call out these types of complete fabrications that continue to be posted online, whether posted from total ignorance of facts or something more sinister. If an argument cannot stand on facts, it does not deserve to stand at all.
I am in total agreement with your conclusion: Enough already.
----------
And, may I direct YOU back to reality. Why are we in this mess to begin with? It is because we are not receiving the tax revenues that mostly PRIVATE BUSINESSES such as those U.S. based, multinational corporations are not paying because of the bad economy. Many continue to ship OUR jobs overseas to AVOID THE ENDLESS TAXES being levied by the Democrats--with fear of more to come. Now I know you don't want to face the facts, and accuse someone of misinformation when it hits you in the face. The FACT is, private enterprise, NOT BIG GOVERNMENT, fuels this economy and provides JOBS. More and more taxes on the sustainable job creators of this nation only COSTS US MORE JOBS, and MORE REVENUES to pay the teachers and first responders you so desperately yet falsely claim to support. We can't afford them until we FIX our economy and get Americans back to work in the private sector--that is a FACT.

What about next year, and the year after that? How long can we continue to borrow away to fund these failed "STIMULI" that stimulates NOTHING BUT ENDLESS DEBTS? We can't continue to spend money we don't have--no one can! Unless we strengthen the source of our revenues and support our public sector, we will continue to spiral DOWNWARD. Your party is destroying this country--and are too cowardly to make tough, but correct decisions. This bill was an obvious cheap political move to buy votes just before an election. Thank God there are still some in Washington who will fight for the future of our country. Yes, enough already!

What do you do when you know your voting record is disliked by the majority of your constituents? You hold your town hall meetings at times where only people who are in agreement with you can make them. His two main talking points are money for teachers, and socialized medicine. The only people who can make it at those times, teachers before the school season in those areas start back up and senior citizens. The rest of us that care are at our jobs or looking for jobs. That should tell you something about him right there.
You're wrong. The majority of his constitutents don't disagree, just the majority of the posters. Congressman Perriello has consistently held town meetings, more than most other Dems, and more than Goode ever did. Keeping teacher's working helps the local economy and our lagging education. But I know the GOP just thinks teachers are a fiscal drain. They are our neighbors, too. If they are employed, they put the money back in the economy and help everyone. I'm really starting to believe the GOP would rather the economy tanks because they think it would be easier to get elected that way. Voted against health care, voted against unemployment benefits. Shame on them.

You can hold all the town hall meetings you want, but it means nothing to those in the 5th district if you constantly vote for what they want you to vote against.

Teachers are fantastic, it's the teachers union that is crap.

Correction: Voted against SOCIALIZED medicine that we see is not all it's cracked up to be in other countries, and voted against the unemployment benefits adding to the national debt (they wanted unemployment benefits, but they wanted them to come from the stimulus fund).

the bill to save teacher jobs DOES NOT ADD TO THE DEFICIT. IT IS PAID FOR. If you say otherwise, you are lying. The money is coming from returning food stamp funding to pre-stimulous levels and from closing tax loopholes for companies that ship jobs over seas.

This bill is a win-win and anyone who says otherwise is just distorting the facts for political gain.

Paid for is past tense. Read the full article next time.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100810/ap_on_bi_...

Payments will return to pre-stimulus rates in 2014.

Even high ranking dems agree: "The cutbacks in food stamps in the bill are plain wrong," said House Appropriations Committee Chairman David Obey, D-Wi

Guess what happens when you raise taxes on multinational companies? Answer: see Hyosung that use to be in Scottsville and turning a nice profit.

PAID FOR BY WHOM? This is no win/win situation. Anytime you increase taxes on private industry, you are KILLING jobs and cutting off tax revenues. This little contrived "show of support" is a cheap, sleazy trick for political gain just before an election. We already have the second highest tax rate on corporations in the entire world--even before this nonsense! These corporations will probably decide to leave US altogether--and take their jobs and tax revenues with them, to places where the people ARE BETTER EDUCATED. Many have already done so. Then who will YOU tax? Where will the next bailout come from?

States have BUDGETS that must balance at the end of the year. Feds, let them be! Ask your DEMOCRATICALLY controlled congress: WHERE IS THE FEDERAL BUDGET THIS YEAR?? They are too cowardly to even have one--SPEND! SPEND! SPEND to BUY VOTES! Support those who NEVER contribute to make the US a better place, like teacher's unions.

When will people realize that the 11 Billion in tax hikes for corporations is actually an INDIVIDUAL tax on all who buy those corporation's products. Corporations do NOT pay taxes without passing those costs on to consumers. Even most fifth graders can figure this out, but the liberal elite running this country are clueless.

The majority does!!! The Dems want to spend us into oblivion and want to spend to buy themselves votes. That is all they are doing and people like you and me will have to pay for it. That "reform" wasn't health care it was a take over and all it does is force you to buy insurance it doesn't guarantee authorization for services and how long can unemployment go, where is all the money to come from? There are many who have been on it for longer then they should so they can get paid not to work!!! Shame on you for being ignorant!

Tom P. fits right in in scottsville now that the northern scurge has taken over our little town. I think it just keeps spreading from the lake nearby. Virginia used to be a great state until it turned into lil NJ/NY. So many liberals now in that area, they are trying to get the cops to carry nerf guns.

Tried to say he was an outsider when he was born right here in Charlottesville. UNLIKe MOST PEOPLE THAT POST HERE.
I know, the flaming right has no scruples on that. I had so many geezers my age coming and telling me how he was a fancy NYC outsider and I just blinked and said " Well, my kids were treated by his daddy and they didn't do it in NYC."

What is wrong with our society where it is so OK to lie?

Perriello talks about putting yet another $26 BILLION on the Chinese credit card as if it is a step the in right direction. It is so touching that he cares about protecting our children's future decision to become teachers. How will they possibly realize anything positive in their future with all of the debts racked up by his endless tax and spend agenda? Our economy is on the fast track to total economic collapse, just like Greece! WHAT IS THIS GUY SMOKING?
We must face hard times and make hard, but necessary tax and spending cuts. Perriello, like all of his progressive buddies, can't lead because they are too cowardly. He has no plan for jobs--just spend, spend, spend--and send the bill, with interest, to all of those children he so falsely claims to be concerned about. Enough already!
So where were you when bush was putting hundreds of billions on the credit card with the CHinese? You know, our enemies? Of that's right, deficits don't matter when they are run up by right wing flakes. God forbid we spend money on our own people.

Another left wing nut job that has no clue. And genious this money wasn't "spent on our own people" W and the Democraps that controlled Congress gave it the businesses that saved themselves and still cut jobs so the middle class was out on its ear. You and Ron must be using the same history book LOL!
