we did NOT speak to women involved in the allegations. I said " we have spoken to past partners". Please change it to reflect that for the safety of the victims.

what does employment have to do with protesting the fact that we have a serial rapist on the BOS? it's so much easier being snarky and dismissive than presenting a substantial argument, isnt it?

According to repeated claims by Albemarle Democrats Vice-Chair (and Dumler bail-mama) Cynthia Neff, all opposition to Dumler has just one big, bad "Right Wing Conspiracy".

So how does she explain that today's protesters were well-known Progressive Democrats and "Occupiers" like Jordan McNaish and Bailee Hampton?

It kinda blows her conservative-witchhunt theory out of the water, doesn't it?

What is so amusing is that Ms. Neff herself (while simulaneously crying that Republicans and Tea Partiers have made this issue political though speaking out as INDIVIDUALS)- as the Democratic Party VICE-CHAIR!- was the one to put up HER house as collateral to post co-Democrat Dumler's $50K bail! Nah...no politics involved there, right?

In fact, most if not all of the few defenders Dumler has are seemingly all connected with the Democratic Party. They're more concerned about saving their political bacon with the balance of power on the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors than doing what is reasonable, right, and decent. And that is calling for Dumler to resign immediately.

THERE's the politics at play.

But the vast majority of the good people in this community know this is not and should not be about politics. I have not a shred of doubt that if the perpetrator of the horrific crime for which Mr. Dumler admitted guilt and was convicted were Mr. Boyd, Mr. Thomas, or Mr. Snow (Republicans, instead), that the outrage and expectation to resign would be the same. And those defending Mr. Dumler now for political reasons would be leading the charge.

You got me. I am a professional protestor paid European socialist organizations to agitate and irritate. Its a good thing they do, because lord knows what I would do if I actually had to work to pay my rent, feed myself, and pay all my other miscellaneous bills. Oh wait, I DO have to do all that. Maybe your NEXT expose will turn out the way you were hoping.

The rest of her quote is even worse; "...and then there's this huge angst about Chris and his position and I just didn't want to get in the middle of that," Neff said.

His position?

So pleading guilty to sexual battery in exchange for having two other women muzzled is akin to Mr. Dumler's views on other political "positions" like trash removal and rainwater runoff erosion?

The guy has been convicted of a sex crime. That isn't something frivolous and the outrage directed at him for trying to remain on the BOS is not some mere "angst". It's a friggin' INSULT to the entire area and the indignation inspired by it is 100% justified.

Dumbler needs to resign NOW!

@satchel

Cynthia Neff is minor league. How about Ann Malek and Denis Rooker? These guys refuse to ask Dumler to resign. They say "everybody should be forgiven a mistake". Well Dumler made a mistake, and another, and another and likely many more.

Rooker and Malek evidentially want him on the BOS to do what? As an example of what? They should be ashamed but most important of all is what are they telling us about themselves?

Lunsford too. And many more.

The protesters today seem to be liberal-to-libertarian types, you know, like the kind of good people that ended Lyndon Johnson's presidency by protesting the Viet Nam War. Left Wing or Right Wing, who cares? They are on the Right 'Side' of this issue. Congratulations to you. Never give up.

Cynthia Neff is becoming a joke in the Party and should leave. Notice how her story is changing. She said earlier it was a "fact" that the Breakfast Meeting program was changed because of a "death threat" against Chris. Now she says

"the last-minute switch was to avoid too much disruption.

'Unfortunately it was before the plea deal, you know, which he had to accept, and then everything kind of erupted, and then there's this huge angst about Chris and his position and I just didn't want to get in the middle of that,' Neff said".

THE LAST-MINUTE SWITCH WAS TO AVOID TOO MUCH DISRUPTION!

NOT that there was a death threat against Dumler. She has conveniently backed off the death threat story. Democrats are appalled at Dumlers behavior and conviction, and embarrassed at Neff. Please, both of you, just resign!

Ever think The Victem did not want to testify in detail in open court. What did she have to gain? She exposed Dumler to the public. So to avoid all the detailed testimony she may have offered a plebe agreement. No woman needs to go through that.

Ask Supervisor Malek to explain. Or maybe the two other victims? Or one of the alleged other 6 victims of Mr. Dumler who have not yet come forward.

@Jordan, you all did a marvelous thing today, something that others do not have the courage to do. You speak for hundreds of local citizens who have been fighting for decades to protect women who have been victims of this kind of abuse. Do not be discouraged by a few critics. You have fans everywhere and in every political corner.

I wasn't there this morning, Cvillian, but Miss Morgan seems very sincere and very well-versed about this issue. A man just shouldn't treat women this way. It really is rape culture. Those poor girls. I will hold my daughter, about Mr Dumler's age, a little tighter. She goes out after work with her friends drinking, and I hate to think she might have met him and ended up like his victim. I hope you are successful in getting Mr Dumler to resign.

nah i'll never become a republican, but these dems are more embarrassing than the republican before the election who said women cant get pregnant from being raped. at least he was just an idiot, whereas these democrats are craven. and yes, dennis rooker and ann malleck are every bit as disgusting as cynthia neff and this shrill dolores rogers person, who's going around lobbing vague, false accusations out there against dumler's victims without backing anything up. there are some very good people with positions in local government who are democrats. i know a few of them, actually. but it's time they stand up and stop this whole fiasco, before they lose credibility like neff, rooker and malleck have.
