I am so disturbed by this story. I know this man, not on a personal, but a professional level. Well, at least I thought I did. I am very curious for more details. I guess more will come out eventually, but does anyone know if there are any other "comments" pages regarding this case or any other detailed reports besides the Daily Progress report that was posted most recently? So many questions - if he claims he dropped the woman off, was he able to give the police the address/location he supposedly left her at? What was the chemical found in his car? Does his wife know he has been "frequently" offering women rides? This is seriously messed up. If this woman was telling the truth, and he went out in search of a woman with means to drug her in his car, I find it hard to believe this was the first time he did this, and wonder who else may have been victims.
I haven't found any other info except that great but disturbing Daily Progress article someone here directed us to. Not sure his giving an address/location would prove anything, as she likely said "take me to xyz address" and he could recall what that was, even if he didn't take her there. BUT...her cell phone pings will tell the tale of where he did or did not take her, as long as they ended up more than a few miles away from her intended destination and didn't wander into her home cell towers at the time he'll claim he dropped her off. Maybe his own cell will do him in, too, if it shows their route traveling together to the abandoned house. I wonder how exactly he taunted her boyfriend. Maybe that's the origin of the 'intent to defile' charge, though I suspect there are additional horrific details to emerge.

I wonder how many of these weirdos are cruising around on any given night. His store is less than 3 miles from where Morgan Harrington disappeared. I realize he's not the source of the dna found with her, but wow, he sure operated in the same proximity. Maybe he's somehow involved and can ID the bad guy, or at least say "I picked her up and took her to xxx place" to provide another lead that can be investigated. Hope so.

I guess it *could* be his first rodeo -- these creeps do have to have a first time. Maybe he's been warming up to it by cruising around giving rides to strangers to get a feel for it before deciding to step up his game with actual abduction. And use of a chemical. Is it possible he'd done it before, but none of those women called the police afterwards? I suppose it is, and I sure hope they come forward now.

Will be interested to hear what the wife has to say. Did she have any suspicions that he was a total weirdo with a sick and secret hobby?

Of course he's innocent until proven guilty, but since police found a cloth and chemical in his car, seems like there's something to these accusations. She was smart to text her boyfriend, though I suppose some will speculate that it was part of an elaborate ruse on her part, along with the taunts. I wonder how he'll defend his actions. Seizures? An Ambien blackout? Just kidding around? Trying to warn women of the dangers posed by taking rides from strangers?

Yeah, I'm really curious as to what the woman's story is. I really hope we find out more. Why was she hitching a ride from a 52 year old man to her mom's house? I'm not in any way saying she deserved it, or that she is making up what happened. I just feel like in this day in age, particularly in this very town after the Morgan Harrington murder, that no young woman would hitch a ride with a man they didn't know. Why couldn't her boyfriend pick her up? Was he OK with her bumming a ride from a strange man? And why were people posting that it was his coworker?? Curious as to how that rumor even started...
My point is - Taxis ladies!! Come on! The ride from downtown to Pantops isn't that expensive and no cost of a taxi is worth what could happen to you from getting in the car with a stranger!

Anyone find it interesting that it was announced a day ago that they just found new DNA evidence on the murder of Sherri Warner from Culpeper in 2005? If "MyLife" search results are accurate, Weiner lived in Culpeper that very year. I'm not trying to jump to conclusions...just speculating. Oh, and both occurred right around the same time of the year. I don't know when they collect DNA after someone is arrested and held in jail, or even if they do. Just thought it was interesting and perhaps relevant.

That is interesting. Very different m.o.in the recent abduction, but i suppose techniques can change over time. But it doesn't sound like Weiner's intent was to murder, and they surely did murder that poor Sherri Warner. So I'm guessing that it's not going to be related to this guy.

So the motive might be...she wanted him to leave his wife, and he wouldn't, so she called the cops? Or he wanted to break things off with her, so she got hot and called the cops? Just seems so extreme, but then domestic troubles and crimes of passion always are.
I had class with him at PVCC and he was a major creeper...divorced but has custody of his small son.....this is strange..and he was a manager at FL which he told me he had trouble with before....I'm interested in seeing the truth unfold. Chances are, NBC29 won't follow up on it.

We'll have to check the news on Jan. 3. I think someone is sure to cover his court appearance. This thing's pretty juicy, what with the alleged chemical being used. Glad he's off the streets for a bit anyway.

I wonder how he got custody of the son.

Update on Daily Progress! It's basically the same story but with more detail. I wonder how he even knew of that abandoned house and how many other women he took there that he "frequently gave rides to."

Here is the Daily Progress update:

some thing doesn't make since; If she was given a ride how was she abducted? your words are as follows
"The victim, an adult female, stated that she was given a ride from the City of Charlottesville to the Pantops area." Then the next sentence you state, "The victim was taken against her will to a remote location off Richmond Road."
Maybe the wording is just wrong. But she couldn't have been given a "Ride" if she was abducted. Please Clarify.
Once you have let someone know you don't want to go with them, they can move you a few feet against your will and be charged with abduction.

Morgan or Sage? If these two are truly strangers, we all may have been at risk, before this arrest.

He may have killed her by accident or after she struggled. While the original intent may not have been to murder, sometimes circumstances lead to it. Look at the Center City rapist. He killed the one that struggled the most. The others were raped.

To my knowledge, he is not divorced and lives with his wife and son. In fact I know this is the case.
