The true punishment is the loss of his job, pension/retirement, and damage to his reputation.

Some consolation to be sure, but I'd feel far more satisfied by the employment of genuine harsh punishments.

Ever stop to think that this may be more of the legacy left by that Police Chief Miller??????
And, if Miller had dealt with the problem one of the _+ times he got caught before he would not have even been there to get caught again!!!!!!!
Just saying.

So in general, is there something illegal about drinking moonshine that you make yourself?

So this one only took $380 and got 10 days in jail. The cop in Greene stole like 19,000 or so I believe and didn't have to spend the 1st night in jail. Hmmmmm The more ya take, less likely there will be jail time!!! Oh wait, that's only if you are a cop. Let someone off the street do it and they looking at YEARS! SMDH

Do not assume that his actions resulted in loss of his pension/retirement. He voluntarily resigned--I believe before formal charges were levied against him. He was not fired or summarily terminated.

Because he is at least 50 yrs. old and already had 27 yrs. of service in VaLORS (the State's retirement/pension plan for law enforcement officers) he was eligible for full (unreduced) retirement benefits.

My guess: he was offered the opportunity to resign in lieu of termination. He resigned (read: exercised his option to retire) and thereby retained his pension benefits.

(All of the above is conjecture, as I have no way of knowing what truly transpired.)

You know it isn't illegal to make Moonshine right? It is just illegal to sell or profit from the sale of it..but to make it for person consumption is not a crime..

He should go make a complaint to the city's commission on race , he had to be discriminated against because he's a black male and someone put the money there.
This is what those at council talk about as examples.

Perhaps, but remember he caused it to happen -- it was not placed in his pocket (or where ever he put it). He made a stupid choice. Now he has to live with it.

Man I wonder if he loses all that retirement, and the thought would occur is it possible its been going on for years or do some people just turn bad at certain times
