It may be too late now, but in August, UVa police should really let UVa students know how much off-campus housing in that area has encroached upon "da hood".

It will never happen. Image is everything in this welfare centric cow town and nobody wants to scare away the all important hosts that enable the dead weight to prosper---the students.

This is why security cameras on the mall and U corner are nontopics for discussion.

It is time for the female students at UVA to stop walking alone in the middle of the night. They get warning after warning from the UVA police that this is not a safe thing to do, and they do it anyway. It is just dumb.
Now I'm not trying to imply that they "deserve" harm to come to them. A person SHOULD be able to walk alone at night on campus, or anywhere else, without fear. But unfortunately, this is not a perfect world, and tragic things happen, like Morgan Harrington. The best way to stay safe is to not walk around by yourself late at night, or get plastered at parties, or otherwise lose control of yourself. This woman should consider herself VERY lucky that something worse didn't happen, and use the experience to teach others how to stay safe.

Our empowered "macho mizzes" like to think they are omnipotent but all that changes instantly when they meet someone that can't be cowed with a workplace or school sexual harassment complaint. Isn't it interesting that Morgan's Warriors and the other disingenuous groups have yet to press for a security camera network around the university? Retired local police have endless first hand accounts of incidents you will NEVER see the media talk about.

Forcible versus voluntary fondling? Sounds funny. Is this different than sexual assault?

How can a person report a crime without having to speak to anyone? There place to drop a little bird to the police? I have known someone for a long time and now recently was shown how low they are.

Cameras on all sidewalks in that neighborhood would eventually cull the fondlers and other predators. Won't stop 'em all, but in the long run be more effective than everyone walking around with knives and guns, as someone popping out of the bushes from behind would have the jump on even rambo.
Should have been installed decades ago.

Pretty tragic how such a wonderful area that is, and fallen in a state of ill repute. turned and became a hide out for drugs gay brothel, ignominy, and disgraceful breeding ground there of Narcissism. sick odor coming out of the area. Anyone decent should get out while you can. Everyone there inbreed and blind? Something wrong with the people who are paid to protect with so much killing or attempts happen, why is there no real action or results? Smells fishy...
