Two University of Virginia researchers have received a grant for a study of adolescents' relationships with non-parental adults.

This study like most studies at UVA will be useless in regards to factual discovery. The labs at UVA are given funding to produce predetermined results that favor the Fund Provider's needs. Anyone who has spent more than a day in the research environment knows that the results of studies can be influenced and guided by the format and process of the testing being performed. In short, the Researchers take a large sum of money from multiple groups, right the majority of it off as "operating costs", and produce non-creditable results.

wow, over half a mill for a few years work. And we wonder why the wage disparity is bad? Make the "researchers" teach in a public school, at the salary that they pay, and they will get a "load" of data, as well as a better picture than being a university "staffer".

Spoken like someone who has no idea how professionals work, or the requirements of research. Do you know how many people are required? how a statistically relevant study is conducted? how to analyze anything? Probably not.

99.9% of studies usually find what it is their looking for, if you look hard enough you'll always find it. One need only look at the failed drug trials of late whos findings did nothing but harm those they intended to help. It depends on what they're looking for here.
