If we ignore the ignorant people, DO THEY LEAVE??!!! Some people crave attention, whether by negative comments to get a response. It takes too much wasted energy...

Being from the liberal utopia of Charlottesville, I'm surprised you didn't know Gender and Sex are two different things...If you read the press release, it doesn't state either, so I suppose CPD doesn't even know what the hell he/she is.

Someone's child is missing. Someone's brother, cousin, friend etc... is gone. His personal life should have nothing to do with the fact that an individual is missing. To the family I pray that God delivers him back safe and sound and that you all find peace through the Lord during this challenging time.

Apparently we should keep our eyes out for a missing woman as well. This individual also went by the names "Sage", "Sagey", and "Unique".

Why isn't the media putting this info out to help people find this person?

I also wonder if this was a date, rendevouz, or other...engagement gone wrong or something like that?

It's always someone's cousin when you are from the urban areas of Mr. Jefferson's fine utopia.

Seeing FB comments for family members to call someone because they know where he is, leads be to believe he is hiding. And, comments about a guy he was last with, saying police came to his door and the guy ran, yet there's no story of police seeking this guy in connection with him being missing, leads me to believe again, he is hiding.
And, ignorant comments about Morgan Harrington getting more press because she was white: Her family hounded the news/media/police about her disappearance. They didn't just post pages on Facebook, they went out and formed their own search parties. I've yet to hear of a search party for this kid. Besides passing out flyers on the "streets" look in wooded areas/rivers/lakes. If he is truly missing and harm came to him, nobody is going to stash a body on the street.
Also, google Dashad Smith missing.....word has spread all over the internet. So, now that the word is out...get off your computers/phones, put on a coat and some shoes and start looking. Holding candlelight vigils doesn't find someone.....actively searching does.
I do hope that the family finds him safe, but attacking people of the internet isn't going to bring anyone home.
If my child/family member was missing, the last thing I'd be doing is commenting on a blog/facebook. I'd be out recruiting as many people as I could to find them, and if no one would help, I'd still do it by myself until I found them. I wouldn't be complaining nobody was helping, I'd do the work myself and hound people until I brought my loved one home.
SN: All media outlets will report on stories...YOU just have to give them the story, not sit back and wait for someone else to do it. It's your job as a parent/loved one to protect them/find them. I bet none of this child's family helped in the search for Morgan Harrington...but we're supposed to find their child for them.

Could the name Erik McFadden be a made up name? If you google the name spelled as Eric Mcfadden, you'll find a link to wikipedia. Just a thought.
Hoping for the safe return of Dashad Sage Smith & that the whereabouts of the other young man is soon known..
