Why do they want to spend 10 million on a renovation at Scottsville to save 7 million to repare Yancey? Not to count in the additional money to transport the kids.

My thoughts exactly.... They want to transport the kids there,i say let the county of scottesville pay for them going to there school. we should nt have to pay for the renovation,or the transfere. this should be for the people that want to ship these kids to scottesville. i don't see any sense in this at all.

Why would the town of Scottsville pay for the transportation when this is a county school? The decision to make the transfer is being made by the county supervisors, not the small communities that house Yancey and Scottsville Elementary Schools.

McKeel may have a point. We might need to beef up instruction and not rehab the schools based on the spelling of the above post. You may need to go to the Green Valley Book Fair and pick up a third grade spelling book. While you're at it, fetch a map book of Virginia counties. You will be shocked to learn that Scottsville is not a county.

Happy reading, hon!

So true! LOL! It sounds like they will rehab Scottsville School anyway, for $10 million, and not do Yancey also. It would make financial sense to move everyone from Yancey to Scottsville, if that is the case. You know what? Once your kids are out of elementary school, that school is out of your life and it is not the center of your universe any longer. I find it hard to believe that an elementary school is the center of Esmont's existence. It's not that far to Scottsville School.
