Typical Albemarle County liberal "not in my neighborhood" crap. And when the number of Officers that are available to answer a 911 call results in a compromise in safety; the very same idiots who are threatening to sure the County over this are the first one to complain that the County PD is not doing their jobs.

In case people are not aware, there are minimum requirements for qualification and training for Law Enforcement Officers as mandated by CASE LAW (as in previous court cases). If an Officer or Deputy does not meet those requirement, they are not allowed to wear their uniform or badges and work as an Law Enforcement Officer.

The county and the city has been getting away with not spending any money on firing ranges for decades. The time is fast approaching where this situation will be changing thanks to the political climate being forced upon us by the left-wing anti-Constitution sheep.

You either provide the Police the tools, training and facilities they need in order to do the job YOU HIRED them to. Or you disband the Police Department and fend for yourself. It's time to either shut up or to buck up.

There are no natives left in Scottsville anyway, so who cares if some northerners have a few shots fired around them? Where they come from it's usually gangbangers shooting, at least now it will be cops!

So Pegster, why don't those who want the range just get over it instead?

Why can't they work it out with the current range they are using? The range is already there. What's the issue? Just asking,'cuz I don't know.

Many folks prefer country sounds from a natural, less disruptive source! I live in the country and also shoot at times but cannot think it something I would welcome continuously!

This outdoor shooting range at the Keene Landfill was not postponed, that portion was eradicated. NO OUTDOOR Shooting Range, that part is gone. What's open for that site is a possible proposal indoor range being built. Other options will also be considered.

Posted from the original article....NOTE THE LAST SENTENCE! Sounds like that site is off to table as this reads!

"Albemarle Board of Supervisors has decided to table any decision about a proposed firing range for police training. Originally, the county was considering building an outdoor range on about 171 acres at the Keene Landfill.

Supervisors say other options have been brought to light, and private money has come in to keep the range out of Keene."

An indoor range is going to cost Albemarle County a fortune! If they can get past the OSHA regulations and Lead Abatement policies.

They started treating their hosts the same way they treat the average citizen on the street.
