So what was not mentioned is what becomes of the land? Town houses or McMansions?

Of course one could also question why the landlord hasn't invested money in the park since they do collect rent...or do they not?

The majority of the "homes" in the park are rented. Preston Stallings(the homebuilder) has been losing money on that property the last few years just on the property value alone, forget about the fact the place looks like a trash truck overturned and just left the mess there. Trailers are falling apart, appliances outside, junky cars. At least the other parks in the area have put up fences to keep the eyesores out of sight. Rumor has it the property will be getting graded and resold to put in a large business very shorty. So one way or the other, sooner than later, the occupants were on their way out anyway. At least they were given a fair amount of notice.

<quoted text>Yes, I'm sure this is true, but they have to "move" their mobile home. Do those other people you are talking about have to move their house? Not too smart, are you!
They would be better off to leave it there and find a new one!

That place is a shit hole! It is a dump! I CONSTANTLY see police cars in there....more than most other neighborhoods. And plus, it's not like being kicked out of a normal place....these folks have the luxury of hooking a truck up to their house and moving it. That's why it's caled a MOBILE home.....it should be easier for them to move. Too bad, so sad, get out. This has been a long time coming!

They really need to understand just because you live somewhere, doesn't mean you can stay there indefinitely. Even if you own your property, the government can use imminent domain to buy it and build a road.

And how much notice do they want? If they gave them 11 months notice, then they would be complaining how they were allowed to renew their lease without being told it would be the last time.

Incorrect, those are Crenshaw and Triangle Mobile Home Parks.

Greenfield MHP is located behind the Rio Hill shopping center on Berkmar Drive. Across from Agnor-Hurt Elementary.

Apparently he was also president in 1984.
And at this point I'll probably hear Rush tomorrow morning declaring that he was president in 1914 - how else could he have started WWI?

Just like the septic problems with the mobile home park at Zion Crossroads, the trailers are gone and now it's for sale!
I think it is on Berkmar Drive.

The residents do not own these mobile homes. Owning means that they are making payments on time and have established credit which would make it easier for them to relocate. If you read the article you would understand that this is not the case. Who is not the smart one???

Its not enough time if you own your trailer & have to move it. There aren't very many locations to find, to put a mobile home on. You are a unconsiderate, uncompassionate, uneducated fool.

I thought so. The ones that scream "rent me" as you drive by, with their lovely upkeep and window treatments. Look, there is a well-funded SPCA a block up the street with large-dog cages where these folks could temporarily live until they get back on their feet. After all, they've only been given 4.5 months' notice.
