How can someone be convicted of two counts of manslaughter, with only one body?

This particular officer seems to have a problem with his height-to-weight ratio so he may have gotten a chunky monkey credit.

Should get more time do to the fact he was police. Shooting a person and he gets only 3 years. What a joke. This is the problem with our society. A druggie will get that long drugging himself up, but shot someone with a badge and you get 36 months. Pathetic, he will probably be put in protective custody in jail.

It's up to the Judge to impose sentences. It's time for people in this state to hold judges accountable for weak sentencing. I've seen the same person in Charlottesville courts charged with 8 trespass offenses let off with good behavior. A lot of judges are slapping ALL offenders on the hand and no one says anything about it.

I knew a guy that got 10 years for manslaughter, he was a Deputy with Gloucester County at the time of the incident. The man came home and found his wife in bed with his partner, he pulled his weapon and she jumped up out of the bed an a struggle between them ensued. His service weapon went off during the struggle and she ended up dying. He got 10 years for a crime of passion. Harmon-Wright was extremely reckless and negligent and he's only pulling 36 months?!

I think that's a problem with the lack of non-prison based punishments available to the courts. Obviously in this case prison is needed, but for trespass? The public typically don't need to be protected from a trespasser, so locking them up at a cost of $40,000 a year hardly seems sensible.

There should be far, far more community punishments with those convicted of crimes giving something back to the community.

This was a conspiracy now? I don't need to dig a hole for cops, they do it all by themselves. You've got a conveniently short memory on what some cops have done just around here. Since when did we start paying cops to hide in the bushes? Just 2 weeks ago in LA some old lady got shot in the back by cops while delivering news papers, national news, no conspiracy. Too many cops become cops for some very wrong reasons and unless there are some proper screening, like the Va State police do, these tragedies will continue to take place. Longo has lied thru his teeth about a recent incident and the cop in question kept his job, the rationale being he had too much training, no integrity, but too much training. Why do think average citizens do not trust cops? Thats not a conspiracy, thats a fact. You know it and I know it. You just don't like it rubbed in your face. Tough.

3 years.?? People get more time for drugs, The judge was wrong. Someone needs to look into the judge's connections and the other sentences that he has issued.

I'm not saying that a trespasser needs to be locked up. What I'm saying is the same person repeatedly comes before the court and nothing is ever done. This person is going to keep committing the same offense because he knows he will not receive any type of consequence.

Not conflicted, there is good and bad in all professions. Don't assume all is bad except on police agency.
