anytime VDOT gets involved with improving an intersection you can bet it will be a bigger danger than before.....

Remember saying that goes, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it?" In VDOT's case, It's "If it's broke, DON'T try to fix it!"

I'm not sure if they can improve that intersection without adding a light (with advanced flashing lights) or completely redoing the whole thing.

I would be nice if the hill could be graded down in the curve. So you can see around it. Since it is a school turn and you have hundreds of children right there everyday. I would hate to be the people responsible for not granting the road improvements and maybe having our childrens death or anyones death be there fault. Flashing lights will not stop a log truck or any trackor and trailer. But seeing whats ahead will!!

This would never be an issue in other parts of the country where the people come first, not the state. The state of Va sees itself as a master of its citizenry, and citizens let it happen. So many archiaic laws its unreal.

Often my job as a local driver takes me thru that intersection on the way to Scottsville, and my concern is not only there, but all the way down Rte 20. Cars, commonly referred to as 4 wheelers, run that road at better than 60 miles an hour, and WILL pass a truck on curves and while crossing bridges. Want to fix the problem, put a patrol officer or two on there every day. Safety First
