Stay in school!

I hope they make it harder for schools to dump their throwaway students and truancy students into the GED program. Why can't we educate these school age kids in high school?

So there is a 17 year old student who is still in the tenth grade and is 3 months pregnant. She only knows basic math and is proficient in writing in reading. Do you suggest she remain in school until she is 18 and leave without her diploma, or place her in a program where she will receive a document which is accepted as a replacement for her diploma?
I don't call them throw away kids. I called them saved. Thank you to the teacher who saved my only child, a daughter that I raised alone because her father died when she was an infant. She has a much improved self=esteem now and a job and I have a daughter who, with support, is raising my grandchild, and is considering a career in nursing that would not be possible without her GED.

Why is this not more of an issue in the news? It is going to affect a lot more than 600 people, but will effect the whole country.

Kids will inevitably drop out of school. You obviously don't value human life, no students are throwaway. But yes the Dept of Ed, & welfare programs should work together.
