Patriot football program NEEDS to clean house. These young players are WASTING their time and energy. This so called 'coaching staff' don't have a clue !!! If I had a kid 'playing', I would have them turn in their stuff and quit. Gonna be another lonnnnngggggg season.

The season will not be any longer than any other season. It will be about 10 games. If it is any longer that will be a good thing.

I am glad you dont have a kid on the team. Obviously you would think its ok to teach your kids to be quitters. You were probably a quitter and I bet you still are. Thats what is wrong today. The world is full of quitters.

Its early to be calling for heads. How bout you just save your money and not worry about high school football.

YFI the coach didnt throw 2 picks 6. The coach did fumble the pitch. The coach didnt give up the onside. Were you even at the game?

I always hate to see these kind of threads because its usually a lot of adults playing Monday morning quarterback. Lets remember those kids on the field are playing their hearts out and you support your youth even if you disagree with the Football staff.
I see people criticizing our young people ever day for being lazy and only wanting to play video games. These kids are out there-- give them some respect. Oh, Good morning PD

Had some good plays, made some mental errors that cost points. 4 big plays was the difference. Two picks and two blown coverages lead to 28 points which was the margin of victory.

ACS wont pay for a full time staff which is what people assume we have. Not paying people will get you what we have.
Atwood left to coach at Cambellville U. He didnt get paid squat here. He put in years for free.
Frazier left because the school couldnt hire him full time. Coached for free and worked part time. A mans gotta eat.
Wanna retired.
Dimwiddie moved.
Pratt quit out of the blue.

Now we have Williams, Costello, and Cooper who although they were good players they are just 21-23 year old kids. All three have heart but little to no coaching experience.

Next week we will get another chance to get better.

Miss E, we always have a couple of folks who feel it is their sworn duty to bash all that is ACS and Hood. We are used to it. I even look forward to the sparring match. They get on here and call for Hoods head and a new staff that will work for free.
I get on here and defend the boys who in the end are all I care about.

Sorry that must have slipped by me. I thought I saw Jake. Thats my bad. As far as PD fans go, Im not out to make fans. I just call things how I see them in this town. This town is full great people and has a few knuckleheads.

The Patriots are a great group of boys and girls. I stand behind each and every one of them. Sometimes I have to stand in front of them.
You see I get it. Our children are our future. The way I see it I can either help to build the kids up by positive reinforcement and coaching or I can join to tear them apart by constantly talking bad about them.

Dude, did you need to be so harsh? He got one little detail incorrect.

Take a chill pill. It's high school football, not life and death.

I would like to try something. If you are a Patriot fan post it here. Post your year of graduation. Post your jersey number or your kids number. Post about something you love about ACS. I know there are many who read this and never post. Now is your chance.
Are you proud to be a Patriot? Yes we are!

Well I was at the game last night. And I thought the patriots did as good as they were told to do. Seriously, Coach Hood needs to step up and be a coach. He needs to stop teaching these boys how to play Flag Football and teach them FOOTBALL. Put the slow ones on the track and make them run to gain speed, and show the line how to block. Hood also needs to get the daddy's off the practice field, leave the politics out of it and be the COACH his dad was. Varsity is about playing the BEST! I have a son on the team, and I by no means, think my son is the best. But I do know enough about football to tell you this, our boys needs to toughen up. Mercer Co. Had a power house running back. This kids was the star of the game. Heck, by the end I was enjoying watching #7 on their team while wearing patriot colors. Hood and his coaching staff needs to watch the film and see the mistakes and see where our team needs to improve. And someone said something about our boys playing with heart! Well that s just half true. Our boys are just the prettiest ones out there.

A fair statement. A team could always be tougher. I too thought #7 was a good ball player. We did look good I agree.

I also call it like I see it, what happened to letting upper classmen play varsity and freshmen play freshmen and the in between play jv? Oh that's right....politics and butt kissing set the stage. Not fair to jrs and srs who could play on special team and earn letterman jacket when freshmen are put in and letter out before a player who has put in 2-3 yrs already.

Should we play the best players or upperclassmen? Should a Senior play even if he is down on the depth chart?

there are tons of upperclassman hurt! tons of injuriies! hood makes more than i ever thought. I know he puts in a lot of time and has tons of kids but he needs help with so many, they should pay better to the other coaches. everyone agrees that he has a young staff and needs to get some depth in coaching. I would love to see his uncle helping again.
