Just a question ....i know I'm asking for it,but I'm being serious and ask that you please don't be crazy rude....please?

there are reportedly over 200 churches in Allen County and i hear so many people who are resistant to going to any church.
I'm not trying to start a theological /denominational debate or a church bashing post by no means.
I'm simply wondering what the reasons are for those who are resistant to going to church? Is it hypocritcs, judgement,snobs...etc.....
i love Jesus and i truly. want to know what churches (the buildings) could do to help people want to come (without comprising the bible of course).
thank you

I don't go to church because I don't believe in god. Simple as that.

It's all of the above-mentioned. Corrupt members making the news won't help either. Those that read history books showing religions created by governments to control their people, dinosaur bones and scientific data supporting evolution and the big bang, etc.

Church is man made. Faith is all about God. You don't NEED a church to worship God.

Well, I think it's all personal choice, of course. It takes dedication to get up, get breakfast, get a shower, get the kids ready, etc. all before you go. And today it is so easy to just want to sleep in on Sunday. Years and years ago it was not only a time to serve God, but a social event too. Today, we have other avenues to contact each other. Like I said, it takes dedication and the want to, to go and worship God in His house. That's what it is all about...dedication. That's my opinion, of course.:)

you are right. although a group of fellow believers is an awfully good support system. WE are the church but it can be very benifical to come together and worship/edify one another. that's the church I'm refering to in this instance.

you make valid points and i completely agree that its a matter of choice.

I think that people that go to church should serve God. Too many times people go to get served. People that serve God can be a great asset to the community.
People can serve God outside the walls of a church building also, but in a way I consider any work for God within the area of the church.

Roaming, it's only natural for people to question things when there is zero scientific evidence. The bible is filled with crazy stories. Do you really think two of every animal could fit on noah's ark? And how the heck did they feed and water them for that long of a time? If someone wrote a book about a giant invisible popsicle stick watching over us and said the book was true, would you believe them? Why should you? I am not wasting my time and money on god untill he comes to me or science prooves its existence. It's kind of funny that a lot of christians dont believe in dinosaurs but believe in something like god. I was a christian for years untill I really thought about it one day. I was programed to believe because everyone else in my family believed too. Thats what happens.

i know many Christians who believe in dinosaurs and many athiests who say the burden of proof lies with Christians. however it may be worth noting that God doesnt typically work on our demands or our timetables. if you ask God to come to you then he will.providing you are serious and are sincerely searching. i know it can be hard to believe in things you can't see but you can see and feel the effects of God in your/Someone's life. i think church should not be filled with rules and regulations but with the love of God.

If you wait for God to prove to you that He is real, well, it will be too late. Just sayin.

I think if you want to believe, then you believe. I think if you don't want to believe then you don't. If you don't believe in God, don't worry, He still believes in you. No problem.
