No its not nice at all!
But the site has not been updated since 2005 on the payouts for the State of Kentucky.
Paying not to grow is STUPID no matter who started it!
Wasteful spending from our Government! AGAIN

It was going on but in smaller form in the 80's, 90's and still.
Remember when the ethanol plant was built in Franklin and its sudden closing? That was in part to the high price of corn. Forcing them to stop production! If they pay farmers not to grow something then the stock prices of grains, hay etc... go sky high and the demand is higher. They bring in grain from other countries instead of letting US farmers tend thier land....Beurocratic azzes!!

School isn't always the place to learn about REAL economics!!
Yeah the degree looks good on paper, but, alot is not allowed to be in "books"!!
That way the general population (US), can continue to be blinded by what the Government actually do with the money to get us into the financial hole we stay in!

Farm subsidies have existed for decades. That wasn't a Bush idea, Rae. In fact, those against them might want to chastise Mr. Obama for keeping the subsidies in place for farming operations that gross $500,000 or more each year. I'm sure the large corporations that get to keep getting that money are tickled to death.
