I guess people forgot about evidence Jeff misplaced,if you want somebody to try to be helping get people out of trouble,by letting the criminals know when the police are coming or won't go to a criminals house cause he is afraid they will get mad at him then vote for Jeff.but if you want somebody that does the job right even if it hurts your feelings then vote Sam.Sam arrested more criminals in 4years then Jeff could in 40.sometimes you can't be everybody's friend, just do the job right and the same for everybody and you can't go wrong.

You are absolutely correct, I didn't even vote for Sam back then, and he knew that, yet when he was needed at my home he did his job, didn't play favorites and started me thinking differently about him. The other fella has done the opposite, anyone can smile and wave, just like that person in the dog suit at the video store last week.

<Wrong> If you look up the records you will find out that Jeff Cook did arrest many more people with a lot more drug arrest than Sam did. Many more things put into place to help the county now than with Sam. Look at the records and don't listen to the Sam BS. Its just another of his many lies to get elected.

In response to your statement SOMEONE, it has leaked out into the community that many of the hazardous duty officers are slated to be terminated upon the election of a new sheriff. I am not here to bash candidates but these words were spoken by one of the candidates. It is apparent that these deputies are exercising the only viable option they may have. With this being the case, maybe they feel as if the leadership in this county does not care about them or the aftermath that this may impose upon them and their families.

Sorry SOMEONE, when I made reference to a "new Sheriff" I meant the one who will be elected for a "new term". Wanted to clarify that.

Surprised to see as many 4 Sam stickers on cars every day , Also surprised to hear some of my Republican friends not planning to jump on the Cooke wagon just because of party affiliation. Beginning to wonder why?

Voting for Sam would only send this county back to a darker time. We need to progress not go back. Sam is a good old boy but that's all. He is high tempered and will only tell you what you want to hear . The decisions Sam made when in office cost this county more than any sheriff ever. PLEASE DONT VOTE SAM

actually he won't tell you what you want to hear, just what he wants to say...as rude , unprofessional and incorrect as he usually is ... and if you question it or convey that he is incorrect? he will never help you. A vote for Sam is a a Vote for Spam. We all know what's in SPAM!
Save this county from yet another backward step.

That's funny because on of them told me that he was due to get fired if the current sheriff was re elected b/c he supported the other guy. Jeff has the cover on most peoples eyes. This guy is a good officer and to fire him b/c who he votes for is wrong.

The covers came off my eyes right after the current Sheriff took over. There was a family in our neighborhood that was doing all kinds of bad things, everytime We asked for help, it seemed the family was tipped off before the Deputy arrived (if arriving at all) The bad neighbors have since moved away and things are quiet, found out the Sheriff and the family were friends. (surprise) I liked Mr. Cooke as a nice person and voted for him the first time because of that reason. I'm not so sure this time around.

My vote will be cast based on what I know. And I am not saying Jeff isn't a good guy outside of the uniform and office, but it is not someone I want running the community in which I live. Sam has my vote, and many more. No matter how many "Appreciation Parties" are thrown for the supporters. Hopefully Allen County knows who is best for the job.

Let's agree to disagree, After I saw how Sam treated the victims of situations badly and not the criminals? I'll take my chances with Jeff. Furthermore had to physically have the law books read and interpreted for him? That's not a law trained individual I want in charge.

I know it to be different. Jeff has more charges on criminals than sam did. Plus sam cost the county much more in law suites. So why did you lie about going to the court house. I checked and no one has been up there and counted the tickets.

Gonna have to vote for "Burger Boy" never thought I would be voting Democrat but in this case I'll go with the best choice of the two. 4 years ago was a different story, sometimes being a nice guy with a lot of friends can get in way. The voters will decide the outcome, I'll take my chances with Sam. the more I read the Sam bashing on here, the more I believe Cooke supporters are getting desperate.

The only desperate part of this is Sam pretending to be what he's not... not trained, not personable, not understanding, not caring to the victims of crime and what's desperate is people believing in him a 2nd time around. I'm not saying Cooke is awesome, but Sam's a loose cannon and a costly expense to an already poor county.

You can agree to disagree all you would like. The fact of the matter is Sam Carter is the best choice for the job at this point. With less favoritism on his record than the other team? I would take Carter any day. I am not saying he is perfect by any means, only GOD himself is. But, If the people of Allen County were held accountable to begin with we wouldn't be as "Poor" as someone stated earlier. If they do the crime they must pay the consequences, and not be let off for telling on someone. And no I was not one who was told on by any means, but I have seen first hand how this has played out over 4 years. A smile and a waive doesn't qualify as means for me to vote for someone. Voting is a RIGHT and using our RIGHTS we should pick the best person for the position that is available.

I will admit I will not be surprised if Jeff wins the popularity contest, but it will not be because I voted for him, or because Sam wasn't the best one for the job.

Couldn't agree more, I would have disagreed with you even up to year ago. Jeff is still a likable person and smiles and waves at everybody but so is Sammy Holder. The times I've seen some folks "tipped off" as someone said and other wrongdoers hammered hard because they made the mistake of messing with Mr. Cooke's buddies has altered my vote. I'm not alone, can only speak for myself, some family and a few church members all that add up to maybe 10 votes, I don't get out much so I'm not sure about anyone else.. Ten votes won't make a difference possibly but the other nine said they would drive me to the voting booth if I couldn't drive myself.

I agree with you!!! Do you want a sheriff who will be there 24/7 or do you want one who is very likable???? I have heard numerous tales about favoritism, looking the other way, tipping off the wrongdoers before the police get there and then losing our experienced officers is a BAD sign, too. Gossip is Gossip BUT there is alot going around and it seems that they are all saying the same things. TIME FOR A CHANGE!!!!
