I talked to Jeff last night at the fair. Asked him if he was out kissing hands and shaking babies. He said he was on duty and didn't think it was appropriate to be on duty and be politicking. I thought that was pretty standup. Sam was also there. I spoke with him as well. Both of these guys are good guys. Both will do all they can for our county.
When Sam was sherif there were far more drug busts than what you here about now. I'm sure that because of legislation making it harder to get meth precursors the number of labs to bust has been reduced. Drugs are a huge problem in our little town and Sam was focused on stopping them.
Jeff has also worked toward stopping or slowing drug use. The pill bust case took too long to build but in the end it removed a person who was poisoning our town.
When I step into the booth it will be a hard decision as to which one to vote for. Maybe one or the other can make a case before Election Day
Interesting Patriot Dad. Think about this. To me, it shows character that Cooke does not politic in uniform. Carter has no character, he refused to wear a uniform while Sheriff. Carter has no respect for the uniform or anyone who has ever sacrificed while wearing ANY uniform. Carter is only for one person.....Carter. He will go to bottom of the barrel and make this a dirty election by mud slinging and being the sore loser that he is. If a man cannot win an election fairly, then why run for office? It shows your true colors when you grasp for straws and slander the other all you can. Maybe this is the only way Carter knows how to play the game. Dirty.
So yes, Patriot Dad, I hope you take into consideration of your comment of a hard decision. Carter has not, and will not ever wear a uniform with pride and respect.
Go Team Cooke!

I too thought that it was respectful to not be politicking while on duty and I told him that. As far as Sam not wearing the uniform I find that a little odd. I would be curious to know what reason he gave.
Go team undecided! Lol.

Wanting to wear that uniform was one of Sam's big campaign gimmicks. If he lies about that, just think what others lies have been told to get him elected. Never getting trained to be a cop is a little scary too. No one needs a badge that is not trained to wear it.

Several years ago I had jury duty. Sam was sheriff at the time. He came to court wearing blue jeans with the sheriff's uniform shirt. He was very unprofessional looking. I don't know what kind of job he was doing otherwise, but I wasn't impressed by Sam's improper uniform. To me, that implies a lack of respect for the office of sheriff. A sheriff ought to care enough about the office to try to look like a sheriff.

I imagine I'll vote for Jeff Cooke. I could change my mind, I suppose, but that's the way I'm thinking right now.

<quoted text> neither one, Sam don't know the law unless Peggy is reading it out of the books. And Jeff won't do nothin. Jeff is a good guy but when it comes to protecting his or his wifes friends, nothing happens. Might as well close your eyes to vote in November. Chris should have been the man for the job.
Found out about the friends and relatives comment to be very true.

I would rather have a man in blue jeans that will do his job, Then a man in a uniform that will not stand up and do what's right.

I would rather have a man that knows the job and how to do it like the laws allow him do it than a man in blue jeans that thinks he knows everything and knows nothing.

Poor old Sam has a hard time telling all the different people all the different things they want to hear. Worst thing is that most of the things he tells is not true. I hope most people knows about him.

Sam is going to have Bill Foster running his office. I guess he will be in charge of the evidence as well. Looks like more law suites and charges to come if they get in.
