Once I voted for that wave and a smile
In that lawman's truck that gets gallons to the mile.
Cruising the county putting up signs in a row, then off to Sonic for some burgers to go.

Four years ago ole Cooke was the man, but this Repub is tired of his green eggs and ham. The more I find out in this election time scam,I think perhaps this time, "I AM 4 Sam"

Scotts and Strains votes added together doesn't equal the votes Cooke got. Sam will have his ass handed to him again just like four years ago.

based on the choices? Ill take Jeff over Sam any day.. one may not do enough but the other is just a lawsuit waiting to bankrupt the county.

Sam Carter has got Bill Foster and Sam Bray mad at Jeff Cooke. Its funny who will get in bed together when the May election is over. What do all three of these guys have in common. Not one of them have any training in the job of law enforcement. They all had law suites on them when in office. They all make this county look like a bunch of hillbillies. Please don't pay an mind of anything any of them tells you.

I knew it, a popularity contest!
I had a neighbor point a loaded weapon at me. I made a report at the sheriff's office. Nothing was done by Sheriff Cooke nor his deputies!
Sheriff Cooke also protects his kid from breaking laws or Kentucky statutes!
Sam, his burger's suck! I hope he can bring job retention for himself all the while flipping burgers!
Sam once arrested an 80 year old man for trimming on his neighbors bushes which were growing onto his own property. The 80 year old had attempted many times to contact his neighbor about the overgrowth to no avail. The 80 year old went on his way to clear a path up his driveway...to do so he needed to trim away the neighbors bushes. Sam arrested the old man for Destruction to Private Property. SHEESH!
Sam is a democrat! I wonder if he voted for OBAMA?
Last, I never saw either candidate in my neighborhood kissing baby's or shaking hands!
Amazing, but he wouldnt help when a 60 year old lady harassed and stole from my neighbor and her kid.. told the victim, she thought she had a right to do what she did and possession is 9 tenths of the law... even with receipts! This county needs to change or its permanently doomed. Oh and if you're not originally from here? Memorize the number for the KY State Police... because you won't be treated fairly and if you don't like it? You'll be told call them. That's what he told that poor girl. Shameful

Sam Carter being Sheriff is a joke. He's trying to live his fantasy at the expense of Allen County. Do you really think he cares about the citizens of Allen County and he wants to make lives so much better. He had that chance four years ago, what happened? If he cares as much as he says, then why didn't he apply to be a deputy when he got voted out? Better yet, why didn't he go to the academy and receive formal training, like he said he would when ran for election. He comes into a position with absolutely no experience in law enforcement whatsoever and all of a sudden he is a police officer / deputy sheriff genius. Just because he was elected Sheriff doesn't make him any more intelligent than any of the people that weren't elected. How can you lead a department effectively when you have NO training in what you are suppose to be leading? Of course, Sam can talk his way out of a paper bag and he can sugar coat things to make people believe he really knows what he is talking about, but sometimes Sam Carter is wrong. Don't go tell him that he is wrong because you'll be on his bad side, he won't care about you as much. Sam wants a little power and authority, end of story. If you want to be a cop, then be a cop and if you want to build houses then build houses. For Sam to make statements that he has made in the last couple months is atrocious. Sam tells people that crime has gone up and people aren't being arrested, yet Larry Piper has a full house and complains about all the inmates..........how does that make sense? Sam tells people that DUI's are out of control but a deputy sheriff won Allen County's award last year for the most DUI's in the county and there was almost a record number of DUI's arrested that year, from the Sheriff's Office.(It was in the C-T Paper) So DUI's must not really be down? Sam takes a rumor and tries to turn it into a fact because he thinks no one will check his story. So next time you're down at the burger joint ask Sam to take away the smoke screen and show you the facts, show the numbers and statistics that he says he has. When he can't show them to you, take that as a clue, because he doesn't have one.

The office of sheriff here in Allen County is nothing but a popularity contest. Most of your statements and opinions are dead on correct.

You are so right on getting fair treatment when you are from somewhere else. I've been here 15 years & I am still treated as an outsider. I was born in the good ole US of A. I served in the U.S. Army. I was a U.S. Forestry Firefighter and a federal corrections officer. I am still treated like shit......beecuz I aints frum round here! Ignorance in Kentucky is blissful!

......and shame on Sam!

Baseless, willfully ignorant slander after the election from someone titled "Angels from Sam" against a candidate who has already lost? Wow. I hope your candidate has more class than you do. I am praying for you, "Angel." You clearly have bitterness polluting your soul.

Since you say you are praying for me. Then mean it.......and not say in scarcasm.
It is mind buggling how you all say you love God. However where is that LOVE to the people.
Insults do not get you into to heaven nor placing any guilt and condemnation on a person......only JESUS'S TRUE LOVE.

This is America the land of the free. So I will speak my opinion. AMEN,
ANGEL ON SAM..........HE WILL WIN!!!!!!!!!!

I find it interested that there had been very little bashing of any candidates during the primary but the second it is down to the final two, all this crap comes out. The democratic candidates are going to spend the next six months desperately running these other candidates into the ground. They know they can't beat them in an honest way so they're going to try every dirty trick in the book.

Jeff, you're doing a great job and I look forward to seeing you continue to do that in the next four years.

I talked to Jeff last night at the fair. Asked him if he was out kissing hands and shaking babies. He said he was on duty and didn't think it was appropriate to be on duty and be politicking. I thought that was pretty standup. Sam was also there. I spoke with him as well. Both of these guys are good guys. Both will do all they can for our county.

When Sam was sherif there were far more drug busts than what you here about now. I'm sure that because of legislation making it harder to get meth precursors the number of labs to bust has been reduced. Drugs are a huge problem in our little town and Sam was focused on stopping them.

Jeff has also worked toward stopping or slowing drug use. The pill bust case took too long to build but in the end it removed a person who was poisoning our town.

When I step into the booth it will be a hard decision as to which one to vote for. Maybe one or the other can make a case before Election Day

I think the big things that will hurt Jeff are some big name big money ppl in our small town have had things just go away. And also the graduation party that Jeff did know about but did not bust only sent officers to check drivers but not the the well to do Jeff supporting ppl that were hosting the party.
