It was about the stupidest thing I have ever seen done to a road, and does not help the road at all. Also they had the road closed for 2 or 3 days and at the same time the creek was over the bridge down there 1 day so the people who lived on the road there had no way in or out. What if someone needed an ambulance or someone's house was on fire? Did any body think about that when planning this stupid "road improvement" ?

It was that Roman Perry's idea until he finds out nobody likes it.

It will then become the states idea and Roman will say he has no control on what they do.

It is like those rumble bumps Jr denied knowing about and having fixed with taxpayer money.

Now that was a shady deal.

The road was open to traffic that lived on 585, and FYI there was a fire on Trice Ln and the fire department had no trouble getting there. All avenues were covered.

Oh yes I do know, my aunt had to miss work, and another woman below her did also. The road was closed there where they were " fixing" it and the bridge was under water and they lived between the two, so they could not get out to go to work. And if something had happened that she needed an ambulance or fire truck and they couldn't get to her the county would have had a lawsuit on their hands. So I guess "you don't know" .

Your Aunt is a liar, the road was open to ALL residents that lived between 100 and the bridge. All you know is hearsay.

Big difference between being mistaken and a liar. Kinda like the difference in being a jerk or an ass. Which are you?

I don't lak it neether. I thank it sux, but I'm a guessing them highway dept boys wuz a thanking that folks be coming at high speed outta 585 right into 100 without stopping to look fer on cuming traffic and might cause sum recks.

A few yeres back they did the same thing, on 622 in Simpson County, at the place wher Barnes school rode comes into 622 nere Gold City. It wuz a strate shot out, but they skrewed it around so as you gotta swang left an come up to a stop sign, then swang back right to git on down to Gold city. Even Ifn ye dont stop you gotta slow way down. It sux to.

If figger some doofis college boy with a enginerin degree dremed idear that.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Ky hwy 100 and Hwy 585 are both state highways.

The magistrates and the County Judge Executive are make up the fiscal court of Allen County. The Allen fiscal court oversees and funds the Allen County Road Dept. The Allen County Road dept is responsible for maintaining the "county" roads, but not the state highways.

We used to have a separate State Highway department, here in the county, that takes care of the roads designated as state roads. My dad worked for the State highway dept in Scottsvile several years ago. I suppose that department is still here.

I doubt if the decision to redesign an intersection of two state highways would be left to someone in Scottsville. That decision was probably made by some highway engineer - or a group of engineers - at a higher level, based on traffic statistics and safety concerns relating to that intersection.

Safety considerations were most likely the deciding factor.

Even if this were a project undertaken by Allen County road department and the Allen County fiscal court, the money for the project would have to be approved by a vote of the whole court. No one magistrate could do it on his own.
