Christianity at its best…..
For the fourth time this year my moderate to severely autistic almost completely non-verbal son has climbed up the brick wall onto the roof and into the back yard of the house behind us. This house belongs to the local preacher and his wife. In which the wife has threatened to call the police a few times and has called them three times twice just this week. As I stand there talking to the cops to get some new idea from him as to make my already Fort Knox home more escape proof up pops the preacher and daughter-n-law and the preacher says I do have one thing to say,“last time my wife tried to have a conversation with you and you wouldn’t listen.” Whereby I respond no she told me she was going to deal with this all summer and threatened to call the cops next time which she did. Then the daughter-n-law proceeds to tell me how sick her mother-n-law is and how my son makes it worse. How she understands that he is different but that wasn’t enough if he kept it up they would have to put something up on top of the fence. Like what I wonder razor wire electric fence. Damn my house really will be a prison then….. They at first were mad that we wouldn’t sale them two or three foot of land on our back yard so that they could fix anything that may go wrong with their garage. We tried to be civil even offered them key to the gate to get in and out of our yard if need. But to the wife that still wasn’t good enough and she spent an hour tell this to the cops that she had called on my son the first time back in the summer, as if the cops cared about where our fence was. We put it up to keep him in so that things like this wouldn’t happen and yet here we are still. No compassion for the weak. Not a Christian but married to a preacher. Or maybe this is really Christianity at its best. People think we are different even been accused of being a devil worshiper,“not true”, but even still I am not that cold of heart and soul.

After carefully reading this, i will state my opinion since you did post this for all to read. Sorry to hear the challenges your son and yourself must battle daily. Unfortunately this doesn't change anything for anyone else that would fall to your advantage. 1st, if your son is that ill, why is he left unattended long enough to perform an act that takes any time at all? 2nd, if he were to get hurt, it will be hard to explain yourself out of a neglegent charge that may rise against you. Something to think about. 3rd, if he were to hurt himself on some one elses property (neighbor), then there is a claim they will be dealing with through their home owners insurance. It's a bad situation for everyone but can be fixed. I know you don't want to hear this and I don't know you but hang in there. This is not christianity at it best. People that love God has a reputation of a pin cushion. Because you claim to be a christian doesn't mean your better then anyone else. Ask your self what more you can do, then thhough they claim to be christian, pray for them as well. Good luck and God Bless.

I'd like to reply to this as well. People who do not have children with disabilities such as her son, does not know how difficult it could be. If you have kids are you able to watch them 24-7, I'm guessing the answer is no. If anyone tries to say that they do,then they are liars. Not saying she is in the right but you would think people could be a little bit more compassionate and understanding. Especially those who try to preach that ALL children are gods children. I don't think Jesus means only healthy, perfect, and from other countries! Maybe that is the reason why god choose you to be a mother and not them. Just my two cents. To the mother I'm sorry you are having to deal with such and know that you and your son are in my prayers. I work with children on the autism spectrum and I get the troubles you are facing. God gives his hardest battles to his toughest soldiers!

Only suggestion I have is to make sure he can't get out of the house, and if he's outside, be out there with him.. It's not easy, my best friend has a daughter with autism.. I understand the pressure it puts on you. Maybe use deadbolts for the house that you need a key on the inside as well.. that way if you aren't right there, he can't go outside..Or maybe try to put something in front of the fence to make it so he can't climb that portion of it.. again, just suggestions from a parent that doesn't enjoy people getting upset with his own babies.. good luck!

Just read this and know exactly who the preacher and wife and daughter in law are. Wonder what their excuse will be when their 'adopted' grandchild crosses a border. Oh I forgot, the son with the silver spoon in his mouth does NO wrong. I personally think he is as weird as a person can be and his miss goody two shoes wife is there because it's a good life when you don't have to work and you still get allowances at the age of 40. This family is a joke but sad to say they have money so they have power.
